Thank you, pity about that
I have now seen a post which said that only 'Button: Home' can work if it is allocated by using a macro, and have confirmed that even then a following 'Button: Activities' is ignored.
I also wanted to have "Button: Activities" as a macro/soft button. I have found that that usually works with "Button: Home", but never button:activities.
So I've settled on the low-tech approach. Put a glossy white sticky label cutout right over that small activities button. I actually prefer it as soft button real-estate is at a premium, especially with the full width activity assist.
RMIR No remotes found! (EZ-RC works)

Hello-
Trying to get a Nevo C2 to work with RMIR... I have already successfully updated and set up a couple of devices and activities with the EZ-RC site, ready to move on to the real action.
Win10, have the registry patch in place. Remote shows USB connected. I've tried with the connector running and not running- RMIR shows:
No remotes found!
Under Remote/Interface, I have tried Auto-detect, Jp1.X serial, and JPS. I don't see an option to force to USB?
Thanks
Markd

The interface used by the Nevo is called CommHID. If you don't see an option to force CommHID then it suggests that you have an obsolete version of RMIR.
The current version is RMIR v2.03 build 12. You should find CommHID in the interface list for any build of RMIR v2.03. If you have this latest version and still cannot download your Nevo, please attempt a download then close RMIR, go to your RMIR installation folder and locate the file rmaster.err. Please upload this file in the Diagnosis Area of these forums and post a message in this thread with a link to that upload. We can then investigate this further.

Thanks Graham. I do have the latest version. I'll try the download tonight and upload the err file.

Check the registry again. After a firmware upgrade from EZ-RC, a new, different key is created (could be "Xsight" rather than "XSIGHT."). You have to fix that one too. You can't trust the connection status. Another possibility is a missing RDF.
In the registry, the key is "VID_06E7&PID_8xxx" where the 8xxx should match the name of the corresponding RDF. For example, the RDF for the Nevo C2 in the RDF folder should be "USB8006 (Nevo C2)", corresponding to a key "VID_06E7&PID_8006". If you see a registry key that doesn't have a matching RDF name, you'll get "No Remotes Found".

mdavej-
When I referenced the registry above, I was talking about the power fix, where the remote would instantly disconnect under Win8 and 10. That is the only thing I did in the registry, and I cheated and used the auto-magic file.
I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for on your registry question- I have several VID_06E7&PID_8006 keys, all say (value not set).
I do have RDF file USB8006 (Nevo C2).rdf
Thanks

Hey, when I look at the Help/About screen, I see this- seems to be missing the CommHID? (This is running without the remote plugged in, if that makes any difference)

OK, I know I'm just talking to myself... but maybe it will save some reply time.
I'm playing over TeamViewer, so I can't plug in the remote and try anything, but I did see a couple of things.
1) When I ran the setup.vbs, I was getting registry write errors. I opened a Commnad window with admin privs and then it ran cleanly.
2) Now it seems like I have just one instance of VID_06E7&PID_8006, a folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Upgrade\Pnp\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceMigration\Devices\USB\VID_06E7&PID_8006.
Under that, I have two more keys-
XSIGHT.
XSIGHT_COLOR
Is this correct?

Under each key (XSIGHT. and XSIGHT_COLOR) is Device Parameters and EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled. That should be 0.
Under Interfaces in About, you should also have "CommHID version 0.4" among others.
Perhaps you didn't unzip every folder. You should get all of them, whether you think they apply to your OS or not.
It is the middle of the work day where I am, so I can't respond right away.

Thanks- will look closer, I have to be missing something obvious- like, I didn't grab the RM Update file... guessing that may be the issue. <edit: Nope, not it>
And your support is OUTSTANDING- that was not what I meant by my comment at all- the developers are amazing!
I'm supposed to be working too, but its a slow day...

Make sure you get the full install, the 20MB one, and unzip everything.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/control ... velopment/
If EZ-RC upload/download is working, the registry is correct already.

Yup, got the full one... I just see one zip file, the entire contents of which I copied to C:\Program Files (x86)\RemoteMaster. Just did it again from the link that you provided. Same About text showing up- still no CommHID.
Yes, EZ-RC works fine.
Thanks

This is a long shot, but try putting it in a folder besides Program Files which is not protected, like Documents. Then check About again.

Long shot or not- that did it!! I now see the CommHID! I'll check with the remote when I get home, but feeling good. Thanks for the help!!

Yes, unzipping RMIR to a write-protected folder is a potential source of problems. I had not foreseen this particular one, but I do now see why doing so will prevent the CommHID interface from being installed. Now you are using a write-enabled folder, you should have no further problems.
