My devious plan has succeeded again. I promised to help, then procrastinated while Rob did all the real work :D

Actually, I procrastinated for longer than you did, but when it appeared that my assistance was needed, I jumped in.

Whatever...

The only thing I know is that regardless of what many people say, the Internet is full of very good people and very knowledgeable!

You all (Rob, John, zaphod and Capn Trips...) are the best I could find to try to solve my problem!!!

Forget "official" tech support... I literally wasted one week to try to explain my problem to Slingmedia and the best I got has been to be contacted by one rep that asked for my SB admin password to make "further checks"...
Maybe he'll come to some solution, but my simple guess is that he'll renew his suggestion to use RM "but without any further support from Slingmedia" (as he actually told me!).

Thank you all again,
Andrea

Rob, you're the MAN! It works like a charm!
I'm just home, and I loaded the .bin I've produced on my Mac at work (thanks Sun for Java as well).
I'm not sure there's another single one in my country having a SB *AND* Sky HD; SB are not even sold in my country. I had to find an UK unit on eBay, not to mention the quantity of HDTV owners here.
In Italy, HDTVs are becoming more and more popular nowadays, but they are BIG and were very expensive. They started selling HDTV sets at an affordable price since last christmas season. Sky itself begun broadcasting HD channels not earlier than last August, so all the technologies we're talking about are pretty recent!
Anyways, now my home theater setup is COMPLETE and everything is working fine; My job (I work for Italy's space industry) forces me to travel A LOT in other european and not-european countries and with my (now-100%-working) SB I'll be a little more at home now... wherever I go.

THANKS A LOT again.

Rob,

You might have lost my post (it's the last one of page 2...).
As in the quote, it works perfectly!!!

You're right, I assumed John's post (which started the new page) came right after mine, so I didn't think to check the previous page.

I'm glad it worked out. This is a very tricky protocol but we spent some time on it a while back so it wasn't so hard to get this one working. Though, it does leave John with the dilema of how to handle that leading nibble in DecodeIR.

Hi there,
two years have almost gone since this thread was created and more and more people are upgrading their systems to HD.

I've recently upgraded to SKY Italy HD and, as you can guess, my slinbox classic (US version) remote is not working anymore.

Is it possible to convert the work of PottyPigeon (RV .bin file) into a classic JU and PL .bin file? Could you please help me, I cant run RM on my Pc anymore so if you could "translate" it for me I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
B

PS: My receiver is a PACE HD 815 NS (same same than PottyPigeon)

Why can't you run RM anymore? If it's because you no longer have Java installed, have you tried the executable "standalone Windows" version of RM?

I tried to run the stand alone RM but I've got stuck with a blank DOS window... so would it be a problem for you to "translate" the RV file into e JU/PL? It's not that I'm lazy but if it's possible you definitely know how to do it, innit?

Thanks in advance,
B

Cannot make RM1.86 work (I have VISTA) and I'd need the JU version (S2000_PL.BIN) version of the file...

Any good soul willing ?

Thanks

I have replaced the RV bin file with a zip containing all 4 versions...
