Despite not intending to, I seem to have introduced some confusion. So, let me try again to clear up several points:
1. I was responding only to pH7_jp1's earlier post. I had not, and still have not, looked at Elizabeth's file.
2. When I referred to "HT mode", I was referring to the eight device buttons at the top of the 8910 remote, not the "Home Theater" key. So, Elizabeth, the 3-bit code I save using Toadtog seems analagous to the "LKP device button to be remembered forever until another LKP device is pressed". Of course, if you want to build that capability into the extender, that's another matter.
3. Elizabeth is, unfortunately, right. Toadtog 2 and Timed Callback do use the same register. However, if you can find another unused register, either will work equally well with that other register.
So as to avoid causing any further confusion, I won't respond further unless someone asks me a question.
