OK, seeing the picture of the Moxi Remote makes it all sense now. Although you say that you don't have a Chapter Prev/Next the symbol used on the circled buttons is the industry standard for those commands. And now we have additional buttons underneath for Replay & Skip.

Now, the problem is that there is a bug in the Default remote, which Sling refuse to fix, that disables the skip/replay buttons. Now normally this isn't a problem as most boxes don't have both sets.

So I have the following functions available, and remember I have no clue what they actually do, I just pulled them off the database and where I have put them on the default remote.

Skip+ mapped to the 'Next Track' button.
Skip- mapped to the 'Prev Track' button
Next mapped to the Page+ button
Back mapped to the Page- button
Jump not mapped anywhere yet, hence my question

So accepting that the skip buttons on the default remote are disabled, are these mappings logical and where do you want the Jump command put.

HOWEVER, I have just realised that Sling have produced a realistic Remote skin for Moxi boxes so let me work on that - back soon

Alan, thanks for setting me straight. I thought that WAS the Moxi. , Seeing the real moxi did make a lot of sense especially when looking at the upgrade that had function labels that matched the moxi remote.

That skin does look the moxi remote. The next and previous are advancing and reversing the recorded show. Are the buttons sending multiple commands? The reason I am asking it is skipping ahead 15 minutes.

That is what I would expect from a normal system that is doing Next/Previous Chapter. The length of a chapter is normally part of the setup for the box, I guess yours defaults to 15 minutes.

Remember there are always 2 aspects to Remotes, the codes sent to the Slingbox so that when you ask it to send a specific button it sends the correct IR signal. In that respect the BIN file is 100%. The second aspect is mapping each of the commands onto a specific button on the Remote. If that hasn't been done properly you can never trigger the signal.

Your only solution for a fully working remote is to abandon Sling and design your own remote. See the one I designed at:

I will take a look. I assume I can start with remote you already built as a starting point, correct? Also how does the sling mobileplayer act with a custom remote?

Yes, my own preference is used for the default, but it is TOTALLY configurable to your wishes. But it is ONLY for PC/MAC using SlingPlayer/WebSlingPlayer. As discussed in my previous post, the MobilePlayers always use their default remote and if they haven't mapped it properly from the codes it will be wrong. If you read the http://answers.slingbox.com forum you will lots of complaints about wrong/missing buttons, particularly with the Android version. They made a bit of a hash of it.

Hi Alan,

I am trying to create a skin for the PL.bin you created but I'm having a problem with the Zoom key (OBC 80). Whats happening is no matter what I name it or where I map it, it just duplicating another keys action. So at the moment it doing PVR even though I have resigned it from setup to FP1 and called it ZoOM.

I wondering if it's where I'm swapping it from US PL to JB PL and this is coursing the problem?

I was going to try and rebuild the remote from scratch to see if that helped bu t I noticed that I don't have Protocol Pid: 01 2A to be able to do this.

Any suggestion on how I might be able to solve this issue I would be very grateful...

A couple of worrying points here. You talk about FP1, but the latest RDFs don't use that. And I am not aware of anything using the JB Protocol.

thanx for the reply, so are you saying there's newer RDF's which don't have keymaps FP1-10 in the Buttons Tab? or are they just not being used anymore?

I'm using the RDF's that where given to me with 'RemoteMaster Device Upgrade Editor, v2.02 Beta'

The JB chipset is in use for all Non US and Asian Pro-HD's, so it has a large coverage. The box I'm trying to set this up on in Canada this has a JB Chipset to be honest it suprised me, as I thought it would be the same as the US.

The old RDF files have a lot of bugs in. I built a new set at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7201

But it doesn't include JB, maybe it is compatible with PL ?
