This seems to have done the trick. Sorry for the delays. Do you know the web page off hand with remote instructions such as getting global volume and things like that? The 9 9 3 for global volume works for this remote but now i want to see if i can get my discrete tv inputs to work no matter what input im in.

Menu=$24,

So I have updated the RDF accordingly, thanks for all your work on this Jack.

Im opening an old thread again here. Im assigning hisense discretes to the a, b, c, d buttons and they dont seem to respond under any device mode. I could be forgetting something.

I couldnt have finished working on this project. Something must have came up. The volume buttons are indeed backwards. Im noticing some phantom buttons. They must be for a, b, c and d. I will test them later on and report back

So i tried all of the phantoms and none seem to correspond with the colored buttons (a, b, c, d). When i factory reset the remote with 9-8-1 the colored buttons respond to presses but when i program them they become unresponsive.

Hey Jack, this thread is old enough that I'd have to completely re-dig into what we did before in order to determine what still needs to be done, so I don't have any quick answers here. Plus it's Christmas, so I don't really feel like working that hard just yet. :D

Sounds good bud. Drop me a line if you ever feel like tackling it. Enjoy your holidays.

Just letting you know that vol+ and vol- are reversed on the irc600 remote. Also the red, green, orange and blue buttons dont seem to work. Also what does transport punch through do again?

I noticed there were still some phantom keys listed for this remote so I filled them with functions one by one and the colored keys still don't become active. It seems anytime I program the remote, the colored keys become non-responsive.

If there is a quick mod to the rdf file you think I could try to get the colored buttons working and volume fixed, i'd gladly try it.

I have reversed the volume buttons here:

I have no clue regarding the colored buttons.

Just like with Volume and Channel punch through, when the Transport punch through is set, the transport buttons (ie, PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, REW, FFWD, RECORD) will punch through to the selected device mode.

If you're really asking "what does 'punch through' mean?" it works like this. Let's say that you set the Volume punch through to TV, then even if you are in AUX or SAT modes, when you press a Volume button it will work the TV's volume function.

The user manual refers to "punch through" as "control lock". It only describes Channel and Volume lock, so it's quite possible that this remote doesn't have a Transport lock.

I just didnt know what the transport buttons were. I knew what punch through meant. I guess we are done here then if you dont have a clue about the colored buttons.

Yeah, we're at the point where I'd need the remote in my hands in order to run further tests. I don't recall how I was able to guess which button codes correspond to which buttons, as it was almost 5 years ago. But the codes that I guessed where the 4 colored buttons (2D,2E,2F,30) are in the CBL and Video device modes.

CBL mode has the most buttons in it, including the colored buttons, so the best I can suggest is that you create an upgrade with every button populated and see where things turn up. I'd recommend having all 3 punch throughs turned off. Another thought would be to eliminate all buttons from the upgrade where the button has been conclusively confirmed to be correct, just programming the colored and phantom buttons.

If you try this and it doesn't yield any positive results, post a copy of your RMIR file so I can check it.

I'm not understanding this part of it because the only device mode buttons I'm seeing are AUX, TV and SAT.
