Does this mean that we've discovered a new variant of UEI remote? Do we know if any other remotes act in a similar fashion? I see a new wave of updates for KM, RM, IR and the RDFs in the future if this really is a new variant.

I discovered something. Cool!
What does this really mean though? Upgrades would still use hex, of course. The only difference is how the the remote reads manually entered advanced codes. Are you thinking a new column of decimal values would need to be added to all the tools, assuming this is a real trend? Or am I oversimplifying?

I'm not sure that's the case, Rob. Although mdavej refers to codes as ones the OP found "manually", I don't get the sense that he learned them and those were in any way specific to his UEIC remote. In fact, the solution to make them WORK in his UEIC remote required using knwon OBC/HEX values for the functions he needed. Looking at that original post, it appears that the OP got those numbers ('codes") from somewhere which (or somebody who) is unidentified, but I suspect is unrelated to JP1, IR, decodeIR.dll, or any of our tools.

OP simply tried every code 0-255 and wrote down what each did (that's what was indicated in his linked file). When he entered an EFC and got the wrong function, I was able to find a pattern and determine the relationship. So I think this is just limited to how manually entered codes are interpreted. I suspect no difference in the raw hex in an upgrade.
