56K is correct for the Scientific Atlanta.

Without context, I can't really interpret the quote you found about 56K. But it sounds like it is saying there is a way to use 56K for the Scientific Atlanta, in which case that should work?

If the Dynavox really can't do 56K, there still might be some work around:

Many cable boxes have a connector in the back for a wired external IR receiver. Does that one have that? If so, maybe you can find some electrical specs for that connection. Then it ought to be fairly easy to buy or make a simple device that would receive 40K IR to feed to that connection. It should be pretty easy to make a .ir file for the Scientific Atlanta IR code set but at the Dynavox standard 40K.

If the above isn't practical: Someone in this group was talking about a low cost design for a device to receive and resend IR. Such a device could be used to convert 40K to 56K.

BTW, what happens when you try to make the Dynavox learn the Scientific Atlanta signals? Is it not able to learn at all? Or does it generate a .ir file that just doesn't work? We might learn something by looking at that .ir file.
