URC-6131nw problem with uploaded devices

I've been told by filebug that plugging the cable upside down does no harm. It just won't work.
I've been told by someone else that the cable should go in the direction of the vetical "leg" of the T-shaped opening (the notch you refer to), a great trick, easy to remember when you have remotes requring different orientation.

Most JP1 remotes have pin1 marked in some way. Many remotes have an outline screen printed around the 6-pin connector where one of the corners is cut away, so it looks kinda like an old index card. For these remotes, the cut away corner designates pin1. Some remotes have the number one printed by pin1.

The typical configuration for remotes is to have pin1 be in the lower-left corner if you are holding the remote upright and viewing it from the underside. For such a remote, the cord of a standard JP1 cable should flow downward away from the remote.

The 6-pin is indeed upside down on the URC-6131, as it is for several of the European remotes - like the URC-7560, etc. So for these remotes, a standard cable should flow upwards over the main body of the remote.
