Shame, in a way; I was looking forward to seeing how deeply one could nest quotes (I'm guessing it's about 24):

Not your thread, but in response to a question YOU POSTED in that thread, you were provided the following:Capn Trips wrote:ElizabethD wrote:Capn Trips wrote:After uploading the extended IR file, you must press TV:Power to activate the extender (All LCDs activate for a short while, followed by "SUCCESS" displayed).
Something strange about this file. May or may not be relevant. ...
2. Extender device TV/1800 isn't in the list at all.
Duhh... how did I miss that?!
Of course that is your problem. You're definitely not running the extender. Read the extender documentation more closely to see what files you can and cannot delete from the extender. TV/1800 is most definitely NOT among them!
So my question is: Have you corrected your IR file to properly include the TV/1800 device? Have you then uploaded this to your remote and properly activated the extender?
If you have not, I encourage you to do so, and withhold further questions until you have.
If you have, and neither the custom mode name nor the DSM work, then it's appropriate to post your NEW IR file and ask someone to look at it.
If you have, and these capabilities now work, you're welcome.
ok i reloaded the 9910 extended IR and pressed tv -> power... said success... THe macro still doesn work :-\
here's the file...

So are we digressing into this silliness?

We're at 7, by my current count - quite a ways to go to 25.

Nils, get better glasses
I know a guy who could print whole Devices.xls on one page and claim it's readable

Does size REALLY matter?
If so, here's a more readable version 8) .

That's because Dvices.XLS is a brave effort but incomplete

.
I have started a quest to find every setup code and have found several not in Devices.XLS. Unfortunately I have hit a wall as my search method consited of downloading .WAV files from OneForAll's European site (for the Kameleon URC8060 as it has plenty of buttons) and it will only let you visit a certain number of times before telling you that your download limit has been exceeded. I tried spoofing the e-mail address but it seemed to reject hotmail addresses. I think I got about 20-30 codes per device out of it so only 7800 or so to go. If anyone thinks that there is any mileage in this I can put them all into a spreadsheet and post it and volunteers can fill in the gaps (let's face it; 1 or 2 codes from each member would do it).

Hey UQ, if you need more email addresses to complete this project, I can supply you with as many email aliases as you like. In return, I'd like to see the results of your search so I can add all that info to devices.xls.
To get you started, I have created ian1 thru ian5 (at) hifi-remote (dot) com

It's nice of you to create the e-mail addresses but how do I access them? Or do you just want a heap of WAV files heading your way? In their raw state they're a bit of a mish-mash with names such as "ad1242fasfn.WAV" so it's easier if the downloader renames them something relevant or sucks the upgrades out of them and puts them in a spreadsheet.
[EDIT]
OK, I laterally-thunked and have received the serial numbers for the first two addresses. I'll get to work on it once I can access my own machine.
I have to work an extra hour this weekend as I foolishly swapped shifts with a colleague and forgot that the clocks "fall back" (OK so it's not that relevant in the grander scheme of things; just thought I'd play the sympathy angle

).
