Because your Solo uses the PL chipset. Only older European Solos used the RV chipset.

No point, it would be identical to the one I pointed you to.

I get the code by installing the device on my Harmony Remote and use that to 'mimic' the original remote. This is the site that shows you what devices are supported http://www.logitech.com/harmony/components

But you would be better off trying to find one that Sling support. See http://support.slingbox.com/get/KB-5000164
