No, we simply mean that you should always use the latest version so you get the latest support files. The procedure you cover is exactly what I do (except I use an IR Widget and IRScope) so if you are doing it incorrectly so am I

I have updated the zip that Alan created as I think I have fixed the issue that was causing the bin files to not work. The link is below for anyone that would like to test it.
