Marcdehaas,
The ict file isn't for you. We will use it to decode the pattern of bits in the signal, and then we can make a bin file.

Alan,
These learns look good. I do need to check my work, and I hope to have an executor tomorrow night. It looks like this protocol is very similar to CanalSat, but has a 6 bit OBC with a trailing check bit.

This file works great on VIP 1903 so I assume will work on 1853 as well

That is where alan posted asking for a decode and provided IR learns.
Vicky,
Many of the learns in this link decode as Zaptor-56, while others aren't decoded. I think it is safe to presume that Zaptor is the correct protocol, but as sometimes happens, the original learns that Logitech is (was) using weren't very well done.

Here's an upgrade for the VIP1853, tested on a RCA RCRP05B, which seems to decode to the same signals as learned by Alan.

Here's the entry for protocols.ini.

Code: Select all

[CanalSatLD]
PID=01 FF
DevParms=Device:7=37,Sub Device:6=0
DeviceTranslator=Translator(0,7,1) Translator(1,6,8) Translator(1,6,16)
CmdParms=OBC:6=0
CmdTranslator=Translator(0,6,0) Translator(comp,0,1,6,0)
FixedData=A5 00 02
Code.S3C80=2D 5E 31 8B 0F 8F 80 10 08 07 00 A0 00 92 00 A0 00 92 A6 04 00 10 68 05 E4 06 05 F6 01 46 F6 01 0A FB 08 46 29 01 69 04 8D 01 46 AF
The IRP is {56k,320,msb}<-1,1|1,-1>(T=0,(1,-1,D:7,S:6,T:1,0:1,F:6,~F:1,-85m,T=1)+)

I'm hoping that someone will turn the above upgrade into a Slingbox bin file. I don't know how to do it.

BTW, the Kreatel 1760 seems to also use this same IR protocol and OBCs.

Hi Dave, don't you ever sleep?

Creating BINs is pretty easy, even I can do it. :roll: :lol: I don't like making the protocol.ini changes though. I know this is just a matter of cut and paste, but then I have a non-standard protocol.ini and I can't diagnose problems.

Here are the RM steps:
1) In RM, change the remote to the desired Slingbox model
2) Check key assignment ( this is the part that is difficult for me)
3) Then from the Advanced menu select "Export Binary Upgrade"
4) Repeat for all the desired remotes. (usually RV and PL are required)

Then zip them together and upload to the slingbox bin area.

There is a sizelimit, so if a big protocol is involved we often need to write a special no frills option in order to get the bin small enough. There are also special repeat considerations, because there is no ability to hold a key.

I can do it, but I need to know the OBC values for each button, so if someone could either provide them or explain to me how to extract then from the ICT file I will get on with it.

Here's the OBCs. Vicky, would the upgrade have been easier for you to use if it were described as Manual Settings? The issue I have with that is our most popular protocol is Manual Setttings, and it isn't very descriptive or useful for future use, once we do have DecodeIR decoding it.

It will :D That remote BIN file is actually downloaded to the Slingbox itself, and EVERY viewing system (Laptop, PC, Mobile, Slingcatcher...) uses the same codes. So if it works on one it works on all.

My thanks to everyone involved in getting this remote to work.

a little bit late this reaction but in China we can use the remote too!

so again thanks very much!
