The numbers I had meant where the beginning of the sequence

I think

0000 means its a learn
0073 is the frequency
0000 is the length of the repeating portion
0030 is the length of the sent once portion

So I went for the middle ground for the timings.

0000 means the learned signal is raw format, other values are used to reference items in the Pronto database.

0073 does indeed translate into the carrier frequency

0000 is the length of the "sent once" portion, if one had been present.

0030 is the length of the repeating portion.

So, these learns do repeat when the button is held.

Pronto Hex has several encodings, and 0000 means that the signal is modulated with frequency of 4.145MHz divided by the second quad (0073). The 3rd quad is the number of burst pairs in the first non-repeating part of the signal, and the 4th is the number of burst pairs in the repeating part.

An example burst pair looks like 0010 002F. The first quad is the duration of On, and the second is the duration of Off. Durations are in units of the period of modulation. So the above 4 quads mean 4.145MHz/115 = 36KHz, with no non-repeating section and 48 burst pairs that will repeat as long as the button is held down. The example burst pair has an On duration of 16/36Khz or 444uSec, and an off duration of 47/36KHz pr 1306 uSec.

Where does the 4.145MHz from 0000 come from? I can see the Hex conversion on the others.

Where did vics original read data come from?

Could I use a jp1 remote to get these reads myself then edit the timing or do I need the widget since my usb-uirt doesn't do it?

I also noticed that the 1 - 8 buttons when doing the camera thing were really short and with little or no noticeable off duration is this different type of pronto or was it just my more messed up reading?

Numbers 1 TO 8 should be non repeating with 2 frames only.

Based on the info that Rob supplied, I guess I had the sent once and repeating stuff mixed up.

What exactly do you do with the numbers? The other thread said something about getting up on a chair, and that just lost me.

EDIT fixed number 8.

I not to sure about his blinds ? That lost me as well . Mine you program through a plug in controller what number to respond to so if the last number pressed is not that blinds it ignores all transit ir signals and when it sees the last number ir signal as its selected number it allows up , down, and stop to control it.

Ooops, I see that. I'm either timing pair in 1-7, or have an extra in 8. I'll fix that. I should really learn how to use Barf's IR tools so I didn't have to do this by hand!

4.145Mhz is a property of Pronto remotes, probably a submultiple of some crystal frequency. If you're actually interested in this, read the link Rob provided.
