EDIT: I was posting this at the same time that oppor was posting the preceding post.
oppor wrote:Yeah I tried the Device 84's Lens and size ...but no go...psiloc App is working as I can get it turn on/menu etc as Rob asked me to try.
Just in case anyone missed this, this is where oppor confirms that his projector does respond to the regular Sony15, device 84 codes.

As a reminder, the buttons that oppor is looking for are:
oppor wrote:... the "LCD Lens Control Buttons" (Shift, Focus or Zoom) and then use the up/Down arrow buttons as seen on the remote.

This operation is different to the later LCD remotes where some have got seperate Zoom + and Zoom - buttons etc and some have just a LENS button to take you to the other options via onscreen menu.
The main projector functions use Sony15, device 85 and some additional functions use Sony20, device 26.42

As far as testing random codes, Sony tends not to use the same OBC numbers for different functions, so you only really need to test the "gap" codes.

For Sony15, device 84, the gaps are:
1-9,22,23,28,29,63,64,89,91,92,93,106,107,108,109,110,113,118,121,122,124,127

For Sony20, device 26.42, the gaps are:
1-7,10-59,61,64-74,76-79,98,99,100,101,103,108,109,111-119,121-127

oppor, you have indeed struck gold, here are your codes:

Lens Zoom
dev 26.42, obc 98

Lens Shift
dev 26.42, obc 99

Lens Focus
dev 26.42, obc 100

I don't claim to be an expert in Pronto Hex format, but from my understanding, the second group of Pronto Hex under the heading "X2000U VERSION SECOND" are not valid, as there are no "on" pulses specified. Each hex word that would specify the count of "on" pulses, is 0000. The other 2 groups do appear to be valid Pronto Hex.

I can't add anything else to the discussion at hand.

A.A.

I agree, so I skipped those codes when I was decoding.

Just so everybody is clear--
Remote Central has some lists of IR functions for many components in Pronto Hex format. These lists apparently don't show up on any kind of search there. At least I didn't find them by search, but jasonvp posted a link in the RC forums.

Here is the list of 96 functions for the exact projector--VPL-X2000U.

Actually, jasonvp didn't post the link, he just quoted the link from the original post. Also, just FYI, the OP in that thread (ie, "tryyin") is the same person as "oppor" in this thread.

Thankyou Rob !!!!! : :D :D :D
I feel Im almost there now

Just one thing Im confused about...
Prompted from your post I did a makehex on Sony20.irp with 26.42 defined
And the output for 98, 99, 100 is below

Device Code: 26.42 Function: 98
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 020E
Device Code: 26.42 Function: 99
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 01F6
Device Code: 26.42 Function: 100
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 020E

Should I use this code or one of the RemoteCentral Codes I previously posted..if so which one should I use ?

I guess my confusion is because none of the RemoteCentral Codes match the makehex output codes ?!

Did I do something wrong or Im missing something I think  ??

The hex that you generated using MakeHex is good and it matches the "VERSION FX200" hex that you posted earlier. It also matches the "X2000U FIRST" codes for Focus and Zoom (Shift is wrong here though). I don't know what the story is with the "X2000U VERSION SECOND" codes you posted because they are not valid Pronto hex.

VERSION FX200
Lens Focus
0000 0066 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 01fd

Lens Shift
0000 0066 0000 0015 0061 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 01e5

Lens Zoom
0000 0066 0000 0015 0061 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0031 0018 0018 0018 0018 01fd

If you want to know how to test Pronto hex code yourself to see what codes it really represents, you can use the IRTool program with DecodeIR.

Thanks Rob

So what your saying is that although FX200 codes look different from the makehex output they are both valid and should work ?!

I will check out IRTool & DecodeIR but first I will upload both FX200 codes and Makehex codes to the Psiloc website and try them out with the irRemote app on my phone
http://irremote.psiloc.com/Custom.aspx

BRB :D

Well

2 out of 3 aint bad !! :) but could do better !

Zoom and Picture Shift now work using the FX200 codes !!!! but Focus no.

I dont know if its something to do with the irRemote app or ??
Im trying it with irRemote method 5.

The raw codes from makehex did not work at all.

Anyone anymore ideas ..most welcome.

Im looking at this page
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mb ... d.cgi?7442

to see if I can get the codes onto my Harmony One...hoping it will work better..

Cheers

Forget Concordance. THIS is the easiest way to add pronto hex to harmony after you log in to members.harmonyremote.

Tried this page to add the FX200 pronto codes into the harmony

http://members.harmonyremote.com/EasyZa ... frared.asp

But it only lets me add one extra command per profile !

Perhaps this is why HellG created his concordance method ?

Also tried concordance but Im getting an error

Concordance 0.21
Copyright 2007 Kevin Timmerman and Phil Dibowitz
This software is distributed under the GPLv3.

file name=LearnIR.EZTut
pronto file name=Pronto_Hex.txt
Marke1
Requesting Identity: ERROR: failed to requesting identity
Failed with error 1

Command Used;

concordance -l LearnIR.EZTut -pPronto_Hex.txt

So Im trying...close ......soooo close but no cigar Yet !

I think 'Concordance' does not suppot the Logitech Harmony One

So back to the drawing board...

Why is it that Logitech allows one to add only one extra command per device profile ?????

I guess I will create 3 devices one with Zoom one with Focus and one with Shift ...  .....a waste of device usage...

Would logitech add the codes into a custom device for me ?

So it works !!

These Sony VPL-FX200 's codes work once in the Logitech Harmony One !

BUT !!!!! a couple of issues ..lol

I can only add one Key command per logitech defined device
So I created 3 projector devices one for SHIFT, FOCUS and ZOOM

BUT and a big one..the up/down/left/right keys of the Harmony do not function as per original sony remote...it seems you need a constant stream (i think) of IR codes when they are pressed...but alas the Harmony does not work.....lucky I had another Sony Remote that does work correctly.

So the upshot of what Ive found is the Psiloc Phone App irRemote sorta worked...but not all buttons.

The harmony works but not with the direction buttons..therefore I need to use 2 Remotes...the harmony to choose which Lens control and the old sony remote to +/- adjustments.

What also Ive learned !!
Logitech are PITA as they will not allow more than one manually added command per device profile !
And the hackaround Concordance does not work with this model Harmony One

And thanks for you guys help with this....the projector is behind a wall so this was sooooooo needed..now I can do it ! :D :D :D

Im going to email Logitech with the 3 FX200 pronto hex codes and see if they will add these to one projector device profile

Cheers
