Thanks for your help, it is really a complex one, after several testings, I got some info as below:
A. I got the same problem as https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=83940, and seems he doesn't fix it till now
B. If I click channel 1,1,1,1,1 quickly, sometimes there is a chance to get 11, but mostly cannot. I can't comfirm the rule to get 11.
C. So it maybe not related to pause, could you let me conclude that this problem is cause by the problem item A? I think if I fix the problem A, perhaps I can fix this one.

It's impossible for me to tell if your situation is like the other situation you linked to unless you answer the questions that I asked earlier.
The Robman wrote:When you use the STB remote to enter channel 12, what do you see on the screen? When you press the 1 do you see "1" on the screen? Then what happens when you press 2? Does the "1" become "12"?

Then, what happens when you do the same thing using your JP1 upgrade?

It's the DVN STB too, I talked about it as TV because I don't want anybody mix up the two problems, that maybe make it more complex.
Then it's lucky for me to get your help, and you know the whole situation. Do you have any idea?

The best idea at this point is for you to answer the questions I asked earlier.

When I press '1','2', I can see '1' first, and then it become '12', finally the channel changed to '12'.

mostly when I press '1', I saw 1 on the screen, then I press '2', there is nothing happened.

BTW, I need to attach more importance that when I use the upgrade, I almost need to press the number twice then I get the right channel. For example, I press '2' twice, then I can only get the channel 2, if I just press '2' once, there is nothing happened. Any more info need me to supply please tell me.

That certainly helps, thank you.

From the description above, I surmise two possibilities:
(1) The upgrade signals are of too short a duration, and occasionally do not register; or
(2) There is a toggling bit of some sort that has not been correctly accounted for in the manual upgrade you created, Rob.

To check for number (1), dillondillon, what happens if you deliberately hold down the button a little bit longer on the upgraded remote, does it still not register the number? If it was a duration issue, I would expect that holding the button down would work every time.

Just FYI, I have merged the questions about changing channels back into this thread, and I have removed all the mis-leading references to it being a problem with the TV, so as not to mislead anyone else reading this.

Dillon, could you do something for me please. Could you learn the "1" button again from your STB remote using the URC-8910, only this time please do a very short press of the STB button. I want to see how long the shortest signal sent by the STB remote is. Then learn the same button again, only to a different button on the URC-8910. This is to check for any toggle bits (even though I'm not expecting one as there's nowhere in the signal structure to hold one).

For Rob, I have done what you tell me to do, and here is the link of the ir file. the number '1' is the short press and the number '5' is the long press, there is some difference.https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8361
For Capn Trips, there is no difference whether I hold the button.
I will stand by for any needed action.

Try this revised protocol upgrade:

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) DVN STB1 stb (PB v4.02)
44 8B 32 8B 16 8F 44 08 08 01 1D 02 12 01 1D 01
09 69 BC 07 1B 03 77 FF FF FF 19 77 77 F6 01 46
B0 12 B0 13 C6 1C C3 F0 F6 01 46 F6 01 46 46 29
01 8D 01 46
End

I tried it, and now if the net speed is fast enough, I can change the channel by pressing only once, but most times, I have to press twice to change the channel.
And in any case i cannot realize the two digits channels.
(As below is my guess: you know the STB can recognize the two digits channel if the two numbers are pressed in a short time, assuming it is 0.5 second. Maybe the slingbox refuses to send two signals in 0.5 second, that would cause this problem)

Are you able to test this using your URC-8910 remote?

by dillondillon
I use the 8910 learning the STB's remote control, and also use it to test, it's all right.

No, I meant could you test my upgrade using your URC-8910 because if it works it means that the problem is with the Slingbox rather than the upgrade.
