The Harmony download I did has ChapterNext (EFC 106) and ChapterPrevious (EFC 122)
(It maps ChapterNext to Skip Forward, although oddly it doesn't map ChapterPrevious to Skip Back key
- you have to go into "Settings - Customise buttons" to find it.)
I hate that Harmony software - everything takes so looooonggg...
It would certainly make sense to me to put those ChapterNext (EFC 106) and ChapterPrevious (EFC 122) on Skip+ and Skip-
I think the other Skip is Commercial Skip (EFC 249)
(CmSkip in the Harmony download - button 31 on the pbo remote pic I posted above)
Hopefully one of the guys with a PBO can test it when you've done it

As you've noticed before, when files get deleted, it almost always causes us confusion later, so it's a much better practice to "move" the file rather than do a delete and an upload.alanrichey wrote:As you figured out, the original URL pointed to my test file and once it was proven I uploaded it to the proper area and deleted the 'working' one.
When I found your RM file, I updated it and moved it to the "Misc" folder in the main section.alanrichey wrote:I've updated the files in the Slingbox area. Any idea which option I should use in the Upgrade area ?

OK, didn't know I could do that. I assume I go into 'Edit' and just change the Category/Location ? And then the FileID remains the same ?The Robman wrote:As you've noticed before, when files get deleted, it almost always causes us confusion later, so it's a much better practice to "move" the file rather than do a delete and an upload.
Sounds logical. If in doubt use 'Miscellaneous'The Robman wrote:When I found your RM file, I updated it and moved it to the "Misc" folder in the main section.

double key press
First off, thanks Alan for creating this bin file.
Seems to work for me except for one issue. I have a problem in which any remote button I press thru the Slingplayer ends up getting sent twice to the PBO. For example, if I press up or down arrow, selections on the screen move by 2. If I'm at the top of a folder tree consisting of 4 subfolders, I can only select the top and the 3rd folder.
Thanks for any help,
Rodge

OK, 'eferz' found a neat trick that using NEC2 instead of NEC1 still gave a working remote but stopped repeats. let's see if the same thing works here.

Switching from NEC2 to NEC1 stops the repeats, however switching from NEC1 to NEC2 should make the problem worse.alanrichey wrote:OK, 'eferz' found a neat trick that using NEC2 instead of NEC1 still gave a working remote but stopped repeats. let's see if the same thing works here.
NEC2 signals send the whole signal repeatedly while held. NEC1 signals only send the whole frame once and then send "dittos".

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I agree with Vicky. When a device requires NEC2 and you use NEC1, the buttons will stop repeating, but when a device requires NEC1 and you use NEC2, it will normally cause the device to totally lock up.
Of course, that's when you're using a remote. In this case we're talking about the Slingbox, so we should expect that just 2 repeats of the main data string get sent, which won't be enough to lock up the device, but I would have thought that that would cause 2 occurrences of the button to be sent.

OK, sounds like I got them mixed up. Now you are going to have to explain to me how to stop repeats in NEC 1
As I recall, the procedure was to remove the 005A from the [protocols] section of the RDF file, thereby forcing RM to produce a protocol upgrade. I then copy & paste that into Protocol Builder, disassemble it and look for the repeat setting ? Am I on the right track ?

You are in the right track, however the $005A executor is pretty big, because it handles all of the NEC variants. You, on the other hand, just need the NEC1 variant, and you don't need any repeats, so you can get by with a much simpler executor.
Try this RM file...

I was away on vacation when that method was explained to you. I read it on a public computer and wanted to respond, but forgot about it by the time I got back. That's kind of a poor method, IMHO, because it requires you to change your rdf to get the protocol. So anyone that wanted to use the RDMU would need to make this change. Too complex!alanrichey wrote:OK, sounds like I got them mixed up. Now you are going to have to explain to me how to stop repeats in NEC 1

Today, Rob changed the protocol number to a custom number. That way anyone can use the RDMU to change the way this is layed out.
The NEC protocol is used by a lot of equipment, you really wouldn't want to change that protocol, because IF A SLINGBOX WORKS LIKE A REMOTE, that protocol upgrade would override the NEC protocol for all equipment. .
That was a big IF, because I don't know that for sure if that protocol change would effect all built in setups, but it sure might.
