On IR general tab, make sure that you have assigned setup code 2046 to the TV device.

On the PANSAT, is Power device 8, OBC 8? That looks like what you have assigned.

ETA: There are two Pansat 3500 upgrades in the File Section. Those files show Power is OBC = 0, not 8

So follwing this:
3FG wrote:It isn't obvious, but at step 6, don't do New. Instead download from the remote, save the file, add in your upgrade, save to different filename, upload to the remote. Then test the upgrade. There is some data in the flash memory just after reset that IR doesn't know about, so downloading before adding the upgrade preserves that data.

Once you have saved the file just after downloading from the reset remote, you can use that file repeatedly for new upgrades, if you want.
1. Factory reset URC-8820N
2. download to IR.EXE and save as CLEAN.ir
3. use that file to add devices and learned keys and do UPGRADES.
that's understood but in mu case if I follow this only LEARNED KEYS are tested OK and added DEVICE and it's keys FAILED again.

What we really need are the latest IR file with your learns, the latest RM file you made and the latest IR file you pasted the upgrade into. You can easily post them on this site using THIS link.

It sounds like you didn't assign CBL 2001 to a device key on the general tab in IR.

Where did TV 2046 come from?

Whatever number you end up assigning to your upgrade, the matching number/device needs to be assigned to a device button in IR.

In any case, we can only guess about your problem without seeing all of your latest files.
Ok I am uploadfing these 2 files.

FILE 1 ( file with learned POWER BUTTON only ) - tested ON on the device.

FILE 2 ( file with learned POWER BUTTON and added UPGRADE DEVICE)
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7629

Please describe what I am missing on GENERAL tab of IR.exe ???
I never changed anything there.

Error 1: TV 2046 is not assigned to any device key. On the general tab, you must type 2046 in the code column next to the desired device and pick TV from the drop-down. When you test, you must first press the same device button you assigned the code to in IR.

Error 2: The EFC you learned is 181, but you used 018 in your upgrade. You must fix this in RM and paste the upgrade in again.

Your map file is HERE in the main RM Image distribution.

We also need your RM file.

JACEK, what we really need is your BIN and your RDMU. This gives us a complete view of what is going wrong.
The Robman wrote:Please load a copy of your RM file and BIN file if you want us to debug them for you.
vickyg2003 wrote:You have shown us your IR file with all the learns, but you are having problems with your rdmu and your bin file, so we'll need to see those if you want us to see what went wrong.
Instead you give us pictures and captures of learns, but that is not nearly as good having the actual RDMU and BIN files. For starters, I can't tell which version of RM you are using. We told you not to use RMbeta5, but I can't tell whether you heeded that advice or not. I'm not sure what problems beta5 had, but I have first hand knowledge that beta6 had a problem with NEC signals.

Diagnosing your problem with the files, is a lot easier than trying to guess what you are doing wrong from screen prints.

Edit: I guess I can see from your IR file, that you moved up to beta6a instead of moving back to the last released version. But still we know that you have problems with the RDMU. Whatever is going wrong, is going wrong there. Seeing the actual files is worth a thousand pictures.

Vicky,
As I understand it, JACEK is not at home, and doesn't have a way to test BIN files right now. He does have a 8820N remote and a PanSat box to practice with. So we asked him to post RMDU and IR files. He did.

For the Pansat, he learned power as OBC 0 (EFC =181), but put OBC = 8 (EFC =018) into RM. I suppose that he confused device 8 with OBC 8. Of course this didn't work. He also didn't assign the setup code for the upgrade (2046) to a device button.

Thanks for setting me straight. I must have been blind! I could have sworn that when I first read that post, the links were not there.

Hi, thanks for all your help and troubleshooting.

I finally succeded with both Pansat 3500 and my goal was to make Slingbox BIN file for ECHOSTAR DVR-7400 HD ( european model )

PROBLEM WAS : I did not enter "2046" device code and Device Button (SAT) at DEVICE tab in IR.exe

Finally, I exported data from RM.exe to binary upgrade , then applied to Slingbox SBAV directory. It finally started to work.

I learned all buttons from original remote and implemented them into a binary file.

I posted file to Slingbox community here is link to a thread:

http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thr ... OLISH-bin/

I will post Device upgrade file to this forum too. What is best place to upload? and what files? .bin ? rmdu? ir?

Jacek

Now that it's working, we don't need the IR files anymore.

Please load the RMDU file here:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... &cat_id=22

and here:

And the bin file here:

We need your RDMU file. With that we can add this to any UEI remote.

Hi I did upload both RMDU and BIN files to these 3 links above and describe them as :ECHOSTAR DVR-7400 HD ( Europe )

I hope we can close this thread.
I will release update to this BIN if any bugs will be found.
I have 3 year Satellite Programming and box subscription with Polish Satelite provider : www.cyfrowypolsat.pl so I will defenitly make sure remote does what is should.
