this looks like the same product in a *slightly* more tasteful enclosure

Yes, I wished for an IR wired jack as well. I wanted to hide a couple of things on the back of my entertainment center and behind doors as well. So I also added IR distribution and that is how I hid this and other, less visually objectionable things.

So I didn't bother to wait for payday, I just ordered it, what the hell.

Works perfectly. I disabled auto switching and knocked together a quick upgrade and now I'm styling. Definitely if I ever hook up my "vintage surround" quad system this will be feeding my Oppo 103 or 105 pulling downmixing duties.

are these the same codes as the "Crayola Box"?

This unit sure looks like it, and the bronze colored detailing on the enclosure is much less offensive in person than in pictures.

Yes, it looks hideous, but it is completely hidden in my installation. It does have discrete on and off, but I leave it on all the time. This means that my "activity" macros can switch to the correct input even it the target device isn't completely powered on yet.
Did you create an upgrade for this box Phil? If so, could you post a link please? Nate's box uses NEC1 dev 1.254

I bought that last year when I got my first 4k tv. The seller on amazon kept on trying to send other products to me, nothing I wanted. So finally gave in and gave them a 5 star review they sent me a second 5-1 hdmi switcher for free.

Only thing I found wrong about is the #1 key trips the input menu on my TCL Roku tv, and the #5 is the same as the mute command on the tv. In either case just pressing the input again undos the conflict. Input goes away and it unmutes. So I kept it.

I didn't and I am 1500 miles from the device right now. I have an idea for how I can check it though. If it works, I'll create the file and post back here.

I was able to verify that the file posted by n8nagel is also correct for the uglier version. So, likely identical electronics inside.
