The Insiginia/Inteset design is a "Nova."

Page 15 is a Potenza CE, same shape but more buttons in a different arrangement, and 8 device buttons. (drool)

Problem is the devices aren't named.

I have a Niles like Edmund's shown here that I'd be willing to part with. I made an RDF/Map/Image years ago, but I'll have to find it. Looks like it would be backlit, but it isn't . But it does have 8 physical device buttons.

The one in the ebay listing says it R8L, which has 8 devices, but the photos show it only has 6 devices.

Good eye. That pic is an R6L. Mine has all 8 buttons.

So the eseller says he only included model # the Hong Kong seller told him, but all remotes have only 6 devices.

I've also moved from a recently-demised 8910 to a URC-6440 (which is much the same as your OARUSB04G when used with the extender). Instead of lots of little buttons, I've moved to fewer, multipurpose buttons, taking advantage of LKP/DKP extensions in conjunction with the huge number of phantom buttons, and more logical layouts.

This is available around £16 in the UK right now, and is a fairly good remote anyway, but with the extender it's a world-beater!

Agree, this is working out very well with the extender. First thing I had to do was forget about how the 8910 extender worked because some of those assumptions were tripping me up. The extender documentation is fantastic and the combo modes work great. The only thing I'm still on the fence about is whether to use simple shifted keys or LKPs for the additional functions. Doesn't matter much to me, but I'm not sure which might be easier for the rest of the family. Right now, I'm using the shifted keys.

I tried the URC-6440, with extender for a week, as a replacement for the Insignia with extender.

The URC-6440 is an attractive remote, with a nice shape and nicely sized buttons.

Loved the USB connector.

The extender is great.

But I hated using the remote.

• It has "clicky" buttons
• It combines replay and rewind on a single physical button, short press is replay, long press is rewind.
• It combines skip and f ast-forward a single physical button, short press is skip, long press is fast-forward
• The List button is another combined button, short press for shift, long press for List.
• It doesn't have quite enough physical buttons

Can't wait to get the JP1.3 V3.04 extender installed on the Inteset 422-1.

I found a source, and think I'll get a few of these in a month. I expect it to be the same/similar to the non-backlit one which @MrMoody did some work on. I really like the RCA form factor, buttons, and layout, it's the backlight which was missing. The Atlas ones are huge, and the INT-422 only has 4 devices (RCA has 8, this has at least 5).

Just posting to see how much interest there may be in this, as a JP1(.3) remote which is available new.
