Sylvania LD155SL8 TV/DVD combo

Post by DavidEC2955 »

Sylvania/Emerson/Funai :
Remote Part# NF602UD
TV/DVD Combo's: FXV8266, LD155SL8, LD200EM8, LD200SL8

http://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics. ... 155SL8.pdf

Wife purchase this little 15" ATSC-HDTV/DVD 720P combo from local K-Mart Store on close out {hey for $140 we felt it was a steal! For her home office} and they gave her a remote thinking that it was the correct remote for the set as it turned off and on the set.

But the remote given did not have DVD functions....

Will be programing either a RCA810/B or a Radio Shack remote.

Any help here finding the correct codes??

Could you learn the functions that do work, which I'm guessing are just the TV functions, and post the results. Knowing which protocol and device code(s) are used for the TV might offer us a clue as to what is needed for the DVD.

Sorry forgot about the 'request format' Rob..

I can donwload the full command set for my Harmony 880 Remote, and then try to teach/learn on the remote that will be using the code..
As the remote given to use will only turn on and off the TV...
Will try to do it that way...

All the codes that you captured use NEC1 132.224. Unfortunately, I don't show any UEI setup codes that use those codes, either as a stand alone setup code or as part of a combo.

I believe that John Fine has a cross reference of many of the upgrade files loaded here, so he might know of a TV combo upgrade that uses those codes for the TV side.

I used a 'DVD' setting which allowed for both the TV + DVD to be learned and 'device upgraded' as a single device.

The only button missing is the 'MODE' button which is used:
{From Manual}
MODE button (p6)
• Press to arrange the playing order or playback randomly (CD, MP3).
• Press to set the black level (DVD) and the virtual surround (DVD, CD, MP3) on or off.
• Press to change the camera angle to see the sequence being played back from different angle (DVD-video).
• Press to search chapter, title (DVD), time (DVD, CD) or track/file (CD, MP3).
• Press to set the marker (DVD, CD).
• Press to repeat playback chapter, title (DVD), track/file, disc (CD, MP3), group (MP3) repeatedly or between designated point A and B (DVD, CD).
• Press to magnify the part of picture (approx. 1.3x, 2x and 4x : DVD).
• Press to select the subtitles on a disc (DVD)

Would like to find this code: But kind of hard to do with wife watching TV and trying to sleep...

Why couldn't you learn the MODE button? If it's not learnable, you should sort the buttons that you did learn into OBC order and then make a note of all the gaps in the sequence. Then, create dummy upgrades that contain all these gap codes and load them into your remote, then when the wife's busy making coffee, start trying all the buttons in the dummy upgrade to see if any of them do anything.

I just looked at your codes and the cover the full 256 code spectrum, so the MODE button could be anywhere in the 0-255 range.

Have you checked under the emerson model # in the harmony database?

You can get the oem remote here:

Looking at the remote that Edmund linked to, I see that you found several buttons not on the OEM remote (guide and the PIP buttons) and there are still several buttons that you didn't get, such as...

audio
eject
screen mode
picture
+100
setup
ch return
mode
top menu

An OBC gap search could reveal all of those too.

I also tried the many other TV+DVD combo devices listed on the remote page for remote# NF602UD, NF603UD & NF605UD

Now the sets listed under the NF605UD remote did list a 'MODE' {in the Harmony code listing} which I will try soon...

I have most of these in the code that I uploaded.. but my side notes were not being saved??
Eject = swap on the remote..
ch return = prev.
top menu = guide {i think}
Picture = pip

I may not of entered the '+100' code.. as I have no use for it with my hardware.

I posted a request over at the Harmony forum hoping to get the rest of the codes filled in??

When you create an upgrade, you're supposed to put the real function name in the Function column (eg, you would put Picture rather than PIP, if that's what the function is), this is regardless of what button you intend to assign it to.

And even if there are buttons that you don't need yourself, you should still include them, even if they are not assigned to any buttons, because they might be needed by the next person that downloads your upgrade.

Now I am confused?? Which would not be the first time...
(I think this really needs to be moved but...)
If setting up for a remote that does not have buttons labeled the same as the OEM I thought that we were only to list the OEM button in the notes column of RemoteMaster and not change the button name of the remote?

But As I noted for some reason the NOTES column was not being saved on my system??? The only note saved was 'info'??? All other notes / orignal keys were lost?!?!

I am using
RemoteMaster V1.83
RDF files version 1.26
Java Version 1.5.0_11

On VISTA Home Prem W/all current updates.
