To avoid guessing about model after model, here's how to figure it out on your own. THIS post at the beginning of this thread lists the device codes required and some remotes to avoid. So find a One-For-All on the One-For-All UK site, look in the manual to confirm it has either of the 2 codes listed in the post I linked. The 9040 model may work, but you need to confirm it has the right codes and a "Magic", "P", "S" or "Setup" key that will allow you to program the keymoves.

Good advice - I hope future posters here can at least check these points before just posting to ask if yet another model will work. Especially important to realise is that if it isn't in Chart of Remotes/a UEI/JP1/One for All, there's not much point asking here about it at all, because it probably won't allow the sending of the "special" EFCs required, even if it controls the TV, and that is all that we are likely to know...

On this occasion, for the URC-9040, I'm posting some information, because I didn't find the manual on OFA site support section, and also this remote seems to have an unusual "setup" procedure.

In this case, I put the manual here:

It seems this remote doesn't use a "Magic", "P", "S" or "Setup" key, but instead you need to simultaneously press and hold REW and FFWD until "double blink" to use " 9xx setup" functions.

The remote, according to the manual, has TV/10178 which should work, I think.

seems to indicate that you can do keymoves on this model.

It is also WAV upgradeable, but, looking at the earlier part of the same thread linked above, we may not have a mature enough rdf to generate wav files ourselves with IR - so only official UEI wav upgrades might be an option at this point, and that seems unnecessary with TV/10178 built in.

Overall, it seems that this remote will do the job, but we only appear to have one instance of what looks like reported "success" with keymoves to go on.

That's the best I can do...

To assign a setup code:
1) Press Magic until 2 blinks
2) Enter 10178
The remote should blink twice to indicate that it has accepted the setup code.

Next,

1) Press Magic briefly
2) Enter 00018 or 00019

i have just registered to thank you for the info.
it worked on my LG 47LD450.
the only tricky part was finding the password which ended up being 0413.found on a utube video.

I'm trying all the suggested steps but they dont work! I can get control of the TV but cannot program 018/00018 or 019/00019.

it is different in the respect that the magic button is holding fast forward and rewind for 3 seconds.

1) Which remote are you using for this?
2) WHY can't you program 018/00018 or 019/00019?

Which setup code are you using? You need to have programmed a setup code that uses NEC1 with a device code of 4 first. TV/0178 would work for this.

10178 to take control of TV. Then I use 994 command. Press the fast fwd and rewind together (magic key) once which doesnt flash. Then start to type 00018 and tried 018 also. It flashes twice after inputting only 2 number so also tried 18.

Somebody in the chatroom mentioned this remote not being NEC1-dev4 codes.

Device code of 4?? so not 10178?...

I just downloaded the user manual for this remote to see how you normally program it and the manual confirms that you use FFWD and REW together as the SETUP (or "magic") button.

The manual doesn't mention whether this remote supports the 994 keymover function, and even if it does, it doesn't confirm that you can program EFCs by substituting FFWD+REW for SETUP in the step by step.

But, assuming that you can, here's your step by step...

To assign the 10178 setup code:
1) Press TV
2) Press and hold FFWD and REQ together, 2 flashes
3) Enter 10178, 2 flashes

Then, to assign 00018 to the REPLAY button:
1) Press TV
2) Press and hold FFWD and REQ together, 2 flashes
3) Enter 994, 2 flashes
4) Press and FFWD and REQ together briefly
5) Enter 00018
6) Press REPLAY, 2 flashes

Then, to assign 00018 to the SKIP button:
1) Press TV
2) Press and hold FFWD and REQ together, 2 flashes
3) Enter 994, 2 flashes
4) Press and FFWD and REQ together briefly
5) Enter 00019
6) Press SKIP, 2 flashes

(Note: I randomly picked REPLAY and SKIP, you can pick almost any button you like)

I've also seen with some European remotes that the EFCs are not encrypted, as in THIS thread. Don't know if that's the case with this model or not, assuming we can get it to take EFCs at all.

Have tried this and it doesnt work. It accepts everything except the 18/018/00018

My post doesn't apply unless you get it to accept a code but then find that it sends a different command than was expected. Anyway, it looks like it's impossible to send EFCs at all on this remote. Its seems to operate much like the UEI-made DirecTV remote. That model also uses 2 simultaneous button presses as a setup key. I can confirm that a short press does not function as a setup key on that remote either. Only the long press to enter setup mode works. So you'll need to find a one-for-all with an actual setup button.

Well, there might still be another option. The user manual makes it look like this remote accepts WAV upgrades, and the RDF confirms that, so we could create an upgrade with the required buttons in it and then have shyman load it in via the modem.
