Just FYI, the long URLs that Yahoo uses are temporary and don't always work. If you want to cut & paste a link from the file section into a message, you need to first copy the folder URL from the header before you click on the file, and then append the file name.

YOU CANNOT JUST COPY & PASTE THE URL DIRECTLY FROM THE FILE NAME!!!! If you do so, you will end up with a URL that starts with something like http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com and is followed by a whole bunch of gibberish looking data. This data is some sort of temporary session id, so while your link may work for you, right now, if you come back later and try it, it WON'T WORK.

No matter how many times we refer people to this thread, they still end up posting links like the one I just described. If you are seeking our help and you post such a link, we will be UNABLE to help you.

For example, if you are looking at a file called Dish_Network_PVR721.txt in the "PVR" folder, you would first copy the folder name, which is...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/PVR/

Then you would tack the file name (ie, PVR501.txt ) onto the end, like this:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/PVR/Dish_Network_PVR721.txt

If there are spaces in your file name you will need to replace them with %20 The easiest way to do this is to just grab the file name from the end of the really long Yahoo URL for the file.

Furthermore, if you'd like to hide most of the URL and just display the file name, like this: Dish_Network_PVR721.txt or this: click here, here's how you do it.

Put a after it, then type in the file name, or any other text such as "click here", and follow this with a .

IMPORTANT: Don't leave a space between the end of the URL and the ] or the code won't work and will look like this...
