Did you typo the model number? Do you really mean GTP-500?

Here is the OP's first thread at this site. We received no useful feedback.

But here is a hint: Use setup code Audio 1530 and employ 994 keymove commands to assign the EFCs that are contained in the upgrade Rob linked to.

Adcom GTP-500

I looked at Rob's link [a Word file: Adcom_GTP500.txt] and I can find some commands:

"vol up, 005, vol up, 08, - vol up,,,...""
"vol down, 016, vol down, 09, - vol down,,,,..."
"Power, 005, channel up,,,,,..."

but I an unsure how these relate to 994 keymove commands.

Also, it looks like that file is assigning a setup code 2023:
"Setup: 2023, 99 = 15-2117, ..."
I am unsure what that means.
You suggest a setup code Audio 1530.

I am really confused.

You need to install the Remote Master program (RM) to get EFCs from all the upgrade files on this site. Reading it as text won't give you any useful information. The setup code in the file is completely arbitrary and has no relationship to the built-in code you will be using. Follow the wiki link at the top of the page to learn how to setup and use RM.

Please remember, I am a raw beginner. I got compleetly lost in downloading the RM program which led to downloading the JAVA SE dev. kit, which of course hung up about 1/3rd thru the download - on a different computer.

All I want is a few setup commands in 994 keymove:
Power
Vol +
Vol -
Mute
tuner
tape 2/video
AM/FM

There must be an easier way. I am now thoroughly lost and discouraged.

6	00030
7	00238
8	00034

vol down	00082

Source	00142
FM/AM	00078

Thanks.
Those are to work with the setup code: Audio 1530; correct?
I'll try them and let you know how it works.

Hooray!
It worked.
Now if that GTP500 remote only had a "mute" button.
I guess I'll just use the "Source" assigned button. Since I only use two inputs (Tuner & Tape2/Video), just hitting the "Source" toggle will toggle it to an open input jack. i.e. mute.
Close enough for retirement work.
Thanks a bunch guys.
