|

I have recently found a need for a couple more remotes. I bought my three URC-8820N remotes over the past two years for $12-$13 each plus free shipping from Amazon.com. Now I am having a hard time finding them for a good price. I would prefer the small form factor of the 6820 and 8820 over the 10820.
Thanks in advance! |

There's an eBay "Buy it Now" offer for a URC6820 here... for $15, but shipping is extra. |

Yes, I saw that. It ended up being over $20 shipped. I kept my eyes open for URC-8820s and snagged 4 for $48 shipped ($12 each) new off eBay. That is a few pennies less than I paid on Amazon.com.
Even though, I am not a big fan of the size of the URC-10820, I picked up 4 for $30 shipped ($7.50 each) off eBay for me and a fellow JP1-er.
They are all the N versions.
I believe these are no longer produced and are being discontinued. I suggest to anyone who may need a URC-6820, URC-8820, or URC-10820 to pick them up while they are still available. |

Ebay can be a strange place.
My wife, to my eternal pain, likes her Harmony 520.
I am uneasy because I don't have a spare one for when she or my daughter breaks it in half or fills it with lemonade, so I trawled Ebay auctions.
There's at least one authorised Logitech reseller with an Ebay "shop", offering this brand new for $44 "Buy It Now" fixed price, free shipping.
However, I have seen 3 auctions selling used 520s go to well over $50 plus shipping...
Go figure... |

I have also been looking for URC8820N remotes. It seems they have been replaced in the OFA lineup with the OARN08G and similar models which are not JP1 compatible. I wanted to stock up on these because they are relatively inexpensive, they are very flexible, and my dog sometimes thinks my remote is a shiny silver nlyabone.
It was a frustrating exercise. Every vendor I located was out of stock. However, just this morning, I got lucky. I was able to order a few of these units from Americanesuperstore.com for about $15 plus shipping. I don't know how much longer they will have these in inventory, so you may want to act quickly if you want to stock up. |

The 8820 reappeared on Amazon last week for $20 as well. From a 3rd party seller, but shipped by Amazon. eBay has been dry for the last couple weeks I've looked. I also scoured local stores to no avail.
For anyone who still has them, the market price has been between $15-20, so those who got in on the clearance deals should feel lucky.
I didn't think I could get accustomed to the still readily available, but larger, 10820, so an 8820 is had to be. There's not much middle ground between the spendy Harmony remotes and the cheapo drug store remotes, and nothing matching the flexibility of JP1.
Almost bit on a Sony VL620 'til the 8820 popped up. |

Ooooops!
This morning I have an email for Americanesuperstore informing me that my order was cancelled because they don't have the URC8820N that was offered on their web site. So much for "getting lucky."
Does any one know if the Amazon 8820 is the B or N model? |

The one I received today through Amazon from Blue Kangaroos is an 8820N. |
