Have dug out an old Sony VCR (used it for Hi8 editing in the old days) which has an excellent TV receiver on board.
Lost the remote - but would like to put the receiver capability to good use.
Searched in all the usual places but can't find a device code.
If it helps I do know the remote was a RMT-451 and offered a choice of 1 -2- 3 command modes _________________ ...Ron |

Have you tried the standard Sony VCR codes first? Sony's pretty good about using the same codes all the time. _________________ Rob

Ron,
Here is a link to Rob Humphries Sony site regarding VCR's:
http://www.anycities.com/rhm5757/Sony_vcr.htm
There are some older device codes that Sony apparently used, but please start by telling us the setup codes you have tried. We can probably tell you what Sony protocol/device that those setup codes represent.
Since you can select VCR 1, 2 or 3, I suspect that you can ultimately get a built in setup code to work.
Also keep in mind if you are trying to get it to power on as a test, that may not work. So try with the VCR already on, whether the channels change or some other command. _________________ -Jon |

These are the codes I have tried both on my URC 8060 (Eur) and my 8810w (USA) using the usual direct entry method and then the 991 search method

Hey Ron,
Here's an upgrade for you to try using your URC-8810w. The numeric buttons 1 thru 7 all contain the POWER command using different device codes, then buttons 8, 9 and 0 contain the PLAY command using different device codes. If one of the POWER buttons works and one of the PLAY buttons, let me know which one and I'll create an upgrade for you.
Also, try this will the VCR in each of the three modes.
Here's the device upgrade...
Upgrade Code 0 = 17 D0 (VCR/2000)
27 00 81 A4 A6 A5 00 19 5D A8 40 A8 E0 A8 D0 A8
59 A8 5B A8 5D A8 5F 19 2D 19 9D
End
And here's the protocol upgrade...
Upgrade Protocol 0 = 00 27 (S3C8+)
3A 8A 42 8B 15 F8 15 05 07 02 58 01 18 01 2C 01
18 57 D0 04 B0 01 18 08 03 08 76 07 01 EB 17 76
08 01 6B 0F E6 28 F9 E6 12 08 08 08 E0 C0 56 C0
03 09 01 E6 24 05 8D 01 49
End _________________ Rob
