i picked up a couple of the 15-133 remotes for .97 each.
i have device numbers and old lists of advance codes for reprogramming
the features but this new remote doesnt seems to use those same codes.

will i be able to add the features from the keyboard like i did with my other UEI product? or must use the jp1.3 ?

my previous remote was the 6131n.

It does use the same codes essentially. Just prepend 00 to 3 digit EFCs. The last 4 digits of the setup codes also match your old remote. The first digit is just the device type. For example, 1377 is 01377 on the 15-133, where 0 means cable/sat. I think 1 = tv, 2 = video, and 3 = audio. That way you can easily assign any device type to any device button.

my old Sony AV reciever was device 158.

tried 31158 30158 dont work.
from my new book i got 31058 and 31258 to work but both are very limited.
one extended function i need was 240.
i tried 00240 01240 30240 31240 with no luck.

my 3 digit codes are more than 10 years old.

I'm confused by the assertion that the AV receiver was "device 158". I think you're looking for a Setup code. 6131n Setup codes are 4 digits, so I'm not sure where 158 came from.

Using setup code 31058 (not one of the others you already tried), I think 240 would now be 10445. I believe that's the same code sent when you press 4. If that works, let me know and I'll post the rest.

yes 31058 is the new device.
the old was once 158, perhaps 0158 in the last remote or 2.

thank you yes 10445 replaces 240

as for what you said about"4" i did happen to have it assigned to key "4"

these 3 digit codes were sent to me from ueic back in the early 90s
when i bought a RS remote 15-1918 i think.
the i bought a couple Cinema7s and wore them out..
then some 6131n but i do believe the Sony rcvr device was some variation of 158.

I translated from your list. The first list on THIS page has every known command for your device. Post the ones you need and I'll try to translate. Or you could get Remote Master and try to do it yourself. It's sony 12/15/20 combo with device 16. Enter the values from the sony page into the OBC column.

where do you get that?

I just posted the rest. Getting them is a little complicated. First I used the Lookup Tool link above and found your original setup code. That told me the protocol info (sony 12/15 device 16 subdevice 13). Then I looked for something close in the 133, which turned out to be 31058 which is sony 12/15/20 combo. Using the Remote Master program from this site, I entered the protocol and device info and the old EFCs and it calculated the 5 digit ones for me.

I think they should all work, but I made some assumptions about the subdevice not being used in this case, which could be wrong.
