Hello JP1-ers!

2. Type of device: Receiver
3. Year: 2009-2010
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: 15-1994
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes

Protocol (as lifted from other models) is NEC 4Dev. Been trying EFC's one at a time (1-256) to find codes for functions not in existing models. Have found a couple, but suspect the rest are on different subdev, etc. Looking at 2,000+ possible EFCs with 4 subdevs and 2 protocols. That's 8,000 button presses I'd like to avoid.

Anyone have one of these and filled in the blanks? Need things like "AUX2" and "INPUT", "TONE", etc.

The Onkyo device and function codes are listed in a spreadsheet apparently provided by Onkyo. The NR3007 is in column BM on the IRinput=Main tab. Notice that all functions have the same IR codes regardeless of model, but some functions aren't available in every model.

The code column is in Hexadecimal format. We see that AUX2 is on row 65, and the code is listed as D26D 9D. That deciphers to device D2 (210), subdevice 6D (109), and OBC 9D (157).

BTW, protocol executors like NEC 4 DEV Combo take 2 bytes of data, and require 5 digit EFCs. Searching for the correct EFC is an even bigger job than you were contemplating!

Since each model uses the same codes (if the model implements it), it is easier to use this upgrade (compiled by Capn Trips), and remove unneeded or unimplemented functions. Actually even this upgrade isn't complete--it only lists one fourth of the functions documented in the spreadsheet!

I can never leave for too long, everytime I get a new component I always come back.

I've posted up my version of the receiver IR file in the file section, hopefully it will save someone else some work doing the Hex conversion and so forth.

Doesn't include all the commands (jeez, did you see that list!?) but most of them are in there.

I also noticed something curious - there were a lot of commands with a 4 byte string in the Onkyo spreadsheet - they weren't essential commands, so I didn't bother with them, but for curiosity's sake, what would we do with the 4th byte if someone did want to use those commands?
