URC-9960, Extender and NTL Pace DITV1000

Post by subliminal »

I'm trying to get my pace box to work correctly with my remote. Since the Pace DITV1000 box used a proprietary IRDA protocol it wont learn, and yea, I'm pretty stuck :p

I've found a codeset that someone has made Pace_NTL_UK_DITV1000.zip but as documented in the ZIP file, it required an extender. There is an extender available for the URC-9960 URC-9960 extender, but I'm a bit ademant about uploading it into my remote, and am at a loss on how to program it once I have.

If there's anyone who has had some experience with either this, or other extenders, or even better the Pace DITV1000 cable box, please let me know. Any hints, tips or advice would be grealy appreciated!

I've never heard of an upgrade that required an extender to work, and even the notes in the 1068 upgrade say that it works without an extender, so my advice is to just try it and see if it works for you.

Btw, please read the sticky thread concerning posting links (I fixed both of your links)

Thanks for your help rob. I've tried the code upgrade without the extender but it doesnt seem to work.. maybe there's a slight variation in model number that makes it incompatible. Any clues on how to capture these codes in the first place? I'd spend some time on creating a codeset for it but have no idea where to start.
