I'd like to pick up a 15-100, i don't need it modified (i can do that myself). I'm really looking for a remote with a good sized memory (4k is good right), that has an extender, has a backlight, more with 6 or more device buttons. if there is something that will work that isn't a 15-100 please feel free to suggest. |

15-133 is backlit, 8 device, tons of memory (5k, I think) and already has JP1 pins and an extender, no mod required. Only drawbacks are the buttons are on the small side and there aren't a whole lot of them. PM me if you strike out on the 100 and want a 133 really cheap.
Saw your other post about the mod and the space issue. The 15-13x have the space issue, not the 15-100. You have tons of space when you do the mod. Just be aware that the mod on the 15-100 is a huge PITA, even using Tommy Tyler's fantastic instructions. HERE's how to do it.
A backlit atlas is also a good alternative. Even though it's only 5 device, you can go higher by multiplexing. Not as convenient as having actual buttons, I know, but works pretty well. The price also makes it very attractive (usually $8 or less shipped on ebay).
Funny thing is I couldn't find anybody to buy my last modded 15-100 and ended up just giving it away (liked the atlas better).
Here's a pic of the 133. The backlight is kind of yellow.

Have you tried radio shack? They don't have them online anymore, but individual stores probably still have some. |

I doubt that they do, it's been discontinued for quite a while now. Still worth a shot though, just in case. _________________ Rob

Someone just happens to be selling the very first Radio Shack remote I ever used, which is the 15-1905.

I've picked up two 15-100's at my local Radioshack's in just the last couple of weeks. They were clearance priced at $25.

I just bought the last two 15-100's at my local 'Shack. $4.97 each.
I'm actually going to need a prayer getting the modifications done (I'm not a tools-skilled kind of guy). That's tomorrow's problem.
You may be able to search around on the Radio Shak website filling in any zip codes near you to see who has them locally.

Good to know. Unfortunately, clearance stuff doesn't show up on web searches. You have to walk into the store and look. In the store they can check inventory at other stores though, so you only have to go into one. My city's remaining inventory of radio shack JP1.3 remotes is in a box in my closet |

I just did a web site search for zip codes in the areas where either I am or where 'I have people'. Then I just called the stores which showed up as having inventory. Some had it, some didn't.
Now to find someone competent with a drill and soldering iron.
