Another KM to RM to RS-2116 Question

Post by eq_shadimar »

I have downloaded the Apex-1100W.txt file from the Yahoo group because I have an Apex AD-1201 that I need to control. When I import the KM file into RM once again there are no maps but this code appears:

Device Upgrade Code:
Upgrade code 0 = 24 4c (DVD/1100)
5e 00 01 00 00
END

And in the bottom window in red it says Upgrade Protocol Code *** Required***
Upgrade protocol 0 = 00 5e (S3C80)
3d 91 21 8b 13 e6 44 08 08 01 12 03 3c 01 12 01
0b d2 37 11 7e 08 c3 05 f6 01 46 e6 28 c0 46 29
01 8d 01 46
End

So my question is how do I deal with the two windows bringing the information back to IR? Or is this another KM file that is not being parsed correctly?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer!!

ARGGHH!!! Never mind I was using an old shortcut on my desktop. RM build 0.85 works fine. Please disreguard this minor brain fart as it is late at night :)

I don't think the version of RM is the issue. The issue here is that you haven't ever had a device upgrade that required a protocol upgrade. You paste the two text blocks into IR in the respective tabs. This code:

Device Upgrade Code:
Upgrade code 0 = 24 4c (DVD/1100)
5e 00 01 00 00
END

gets added to the Device tab (the Add button after clicking on the device tab). While this block:

Upgrade protocol 0 = 00 5e (S3C80)
3d 91 21 8b 13 e6 44 08 08 01 12 03 3c 01 12 01
0b d2 37 11 7e 08 c3 05 f6 01 46 e6 28 c0 46 29
01 8d 01 46
End

gets added under the Protocol tab (click the Add button after clicking on the protocol tab).

Upgrade protocols are necessary when a device requires a protocol that isn't built into your remote.

Yeah it was a combination of the wrong version of RM and not using a upgrade protocol before. The older version of RM could not parse the KM file correctly and didn't bring over any of the key hex codes. Once I switched to the new build and used your advice all is good.

Thanks for the relpy all is well now and it is working fine!!
