Ive been gone for a while and trying to catch up. Here is where I am so far (long time IR user).
- Downloaded IR 8.03
- Downloaded new RDF's
- Have JP1x cable
Issue: Needed a new remote because my old 1067 died. I had programmed the old one with IR. When trying to open the exisiting .IR file I get a an Access violation at 004CCCBA. When trying to download from the, remote IR reports an error in the [SETTINGS] sectio of the RDF.
I remember from last time that getting these 1067's to behave was quite painful.
I need some helpl debugging these issues I'm having. Did some searching but couldn't get any hits.
Thanks.

Hi Paul,
It's been a while. Please post a copy of the old IR file. As for the download problem, do a Raw Download and post that IR file too, then we'll take a look for you.

Paul, I remember you have a gray button 1067 remote that you extended. That remote was painful to extend because the e2 area is so small, so we had to have the 2 stage installation.
What are you replacing it with? A red button Comcast? That is a much different remote.
If you post your IR file, I'll take a look at it.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Paul, this is deja vue all over again. I remember that several of the IR files you sent me when you were testing the extender wouldn't open either, but those happened because you made some changes to the RDF. I have no idea why these files are so odd. The upgrade area is really screwed up.
I have 3 of your files that you sent me when you were testing the extender but I don't think this represent where you ended up. I think you may have abandoned the extender on these Comcast remotes all together, since the "raw download" is showing the Comcast signature, not the extender signature.

Yea. That seems right. Can't remember that far back. Now, that being said how do I deal with these new "red"remotes.vickyg2003 wrote:Paul, this is deja vue all over again. IR won't read them...
The Red/ok button Remotes are JP1.3 remotes. Depending on when you bought/made your interface, the Jp1.3 remotes might be a problem. However since IR is reporting an error in the settings section of the RDF it sounds like it is reading the remote just fine, and finding a discrepency in the data. When trying to download from the, remote IR reports an error in the [SETTINGS] sectio of the RDF. "
Now looking at the RAW download is when it gets confusing. the RAW download that you posted looks like its a Gray/ok button and it is showing an error in the data area. If this was indeed a download from the RED/ok remote, then this would be the first time that we've encountered a JP1.2 remote with a RED ok/select button. The data in byte 0F08 is invalid, causing the invalid setting warning message.
