I have a new samsung dvd player and I know there aren't any discrete codes for on and off. It has been suggested to use the play button for discrete on which works fine. It also suggest to use play/power for discrete off. I don't get the discrete off suggestion. Why not just use power off? How does play/power make it discrete off? _________________ thanks, just4fn |

1) Initial condition-- player is OFF.
Pressing Play will turn it ON.
Next, pressing Power Toggle will shut it off.
2) Initial condition-- player is ON.
Pressing Play will make it play.
Next, pressing Power Toggle will shut it off.
So, pressing Play has the effect of a discrete ON, and always results in a ON condition.
A subsequent press of Power will always turn it OFF.
So Play-Power acts like discrete OFF. |

Wont just putting power in the macro always turn it off? Why does play have to be in front? What am I missing? I will look at your answer again but I dont get it yet. _________________ thanks, just4fn |
