I've had a pair of 8910's for a few years now. I've even created devices (to easily add lots of functions not in the standard device setting) before. I just got a new air conditioner with a remote.
First, I learned all its (eight) buttons. Created a new device with keymap master ("home automation" was the closest type so I chose that), pasted it in (selecting the AUX device button), and uploaded. Pressing the AUX button doesn't do anything, doesn't blink the LED. I then found a very similar remote (same except it didn't have two functions) in the file section ( http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=6180 ), tried adding my two extra functions with remote master, to the same result.
My remote master device and my .ir file are here:

I've even tried assigning that device to all three unused device buttons (aux, cd, rcvr) and none of them do anything when I press them.

I tried to download the zip file, but I'm getting a message that its a Docx file and I can't open it. (This might be a problem on my end because I had to change browsers yesterday), can you confirm that this is indeed a zip file.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Re: Problem adding new device, GE A/C
From your ir file, nothing should happen when you press the AUX button, except the display should say HOME 1240 and the time. Perhaps this is different with an extender? The LED shouldn't blink unless you've done a key move or macro on the AUX key.arantius wrote:I've had a pair of 8910's for a few years now. The protocol in the upgrade is NEC1 with 129.102
You have a few of the EFCs matching the upgrade that you downloaded (193 power, 063 temp- and 192 temp+), but the other 3 EFCs are not the same as in the original upgrade. Still the 3 EFCs that do match should work, assuming that the learns you did really are NEC1 129.102.
Actually looking at this again. All of the EFCs do match. I don't know what I was looking at. Apparently your ir file is showing different EFCs than the upgrade file for at least some of the keys. And the keys don't match either. In the upgrade file, you're using up, down, left, right, select and power, but in the ir file, it shows vol+, vol-, mute, ch+, ch-, power.

I see it was my browser problem. I've now downloaded the file, and see that you don't have any MACRO on CD AUX or RECVR so you can't access any of the setup codes.
Somewhere in all of this you need to have a DEV_AUX;phantom1 or a DEV_CD;Phantom1 .....

If your A/C has additional buttons than the one in the file section, don't forget to upload your RM file.
