Slingbox code for Creation RMS09?
We've been trying to use the betaremote program but it is not working very well. Anyone out there have a file for this Terrestial Digital Video Box?

Have you tried the
Creation DTTR-2001 High Definition Digital Terrestrial Receiver
Or can you get us the port sniffer information on this beta remote?

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I've tried the DTTR-2001 settings. They don't seem to work at all with the RMS09. I'll see if my brother can upload the file from betaremotes. He has it on his comp. I would appreciate it if you could create one for the DTTR-2008. That one seems to be closer related to the RMS09 than the DTTR-2001. Also where might this lrz file be hiding??

OK, the DTTR-2008 uses the same codes as this one:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8110
Exporting the LRZ file is an option on the betaremotes.com site once you have learnt the buttons.

Well here's the LRZ file from my brother. He did some quick configuring and said that some of it works but not all the buttons. The DTTR-2008 didn't work. Haven't checked if the IR blaster was firing or not since my bro left to go somewhere. But I assume it just wasn't responding to the codes. Until he tells me otherwise. Here's the lrz file: myRemote.lrz
It seems only a few buttons work on the remote he configured. One of them is the On/Off button and down arrow. OK button seems to work too, it functions as enter and also calls up the guide hmm... Up arrow skips 3 things. But no record button, channel up and down, guide, menu, exit, numbers, etc...

OK, good news and bad news
I have analysed the LRZ file and it does give a consistent IR Protocol and device, so that looks good. I was hoping it would match an existing device but unfortunately I have never seen the combination before.
So what I have done as a first step is to produce a Custom Remote that contains only the buttons that were successfully learnt. These were:
Power
Up Arrow
Right Arrow
Select
Play
Pause
Stop
Menu
PgDn
So check out https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8715
Do those buttons work ?

Hello,
Just tried your file. The menu, up arrow, left arrow, select,power and page down button all work. Couldn't test the Play and Stop since I don't have a record button to record stuff with hmm. I'm going to ask my brother to record stuff and see if I can stop and play it. But other than that most of the buttons work. Is this good news or bad?

It's good
We now have 2 options.
1. Get your brother to learn all the other keys and I can translate them. That will take me an hour or so but if he gets a move on I suppose I can do it while I'm watching the Grand Prix tomorrow
2. We use trial and error. although it means a lot more work for you, a lot less for me.
Basically, we now know we have the correct IR Protocol (NEC1 as it happens), the correct device (2) and the correct sub-device (2) and the codes for those 6 buttons. Now the button codes have to be between 0-255, so all I do is produce a 'false' remote where the buttons send a batch of the unused codes, we can cover maybe 50 at a time. You then tell me if any of the buttons carry out a recognised action, i.e. down arrow, record... In that way we find out all the codes. It would take quite some work on your part as to search you would have to set the system up so a specific function is relevant, i.e. no point in trying to find the down arrow if you are simply watching something, you need to be in the Menu.
As an example, the file at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8715 now has 2 new BIN files. So repeat the setup procedure with these 2 new ones, overwriting the existing ones in the \SBAV\ folder and repeating the setup. Just to be safe, when you run the video setup make sure you reset the appropriate connection before you move to install the new custom code. We have seen some occasions when the system 'caches' the file so the new one doesn't get downloaded to the Slingbox.
Now remember, the ONLY button that sends the correct code is the Power button. All the rest, including the 15 Custom buttons you get by tapping on the Menu button at the top of the remote, will send unknown codes, actually 0-56.
So tap ALL 53 buttons and see if you can identify any other functions.

Okay so I've went through all the buttons I think. Here's what I have found so far.
RMS 09 buttons:
Display info (I) = mute
fastforward (F) = volume down?
stop (S) = 1
rewind (R) = 9
pause (U) = 5
menu Setup (M) = red button
cursor up = channel up
cursor right = volume down
cursor left = exit?
cursor down = schedule
select/ok (space) = changes aspect ratio
exit (X) = multimedia shortcut?
Channel Up (=) = 0?
0 = ch 11
1 = volume up
2 = change input
3 = 2
4 = 3
5 = 4
6 = 6
7 = 7
8 = 8
9 = subtitle language
last channel (CTRL+L) = change resolution 720p, 1080i, 576p?
The ones with a ? mark I'm not 100% sure but I am 80% sure about them

OK, time to take breath. I have now updated the BIN files to give everything we know so far. I have made a couple of assumptions, like the Channel Up/Dn appear to be tied to the Arrow keys.
I have also added 5 functions to the Custom Buttons, see the Readme file.
As I see it we are missing:
Rewind and Fast Forward
Record
Green
Blue
Yellow
Now i haven't seen any codes higher than 75 so I suspect we have just missed these during the tests, it seems unlikely there will be any codes > 100.
So maybe you can get your brother to run betaremotes again and learn those 6 codes and upload the new LRZ file.
And tell me any mistakes I have made in transcribing to this 'almost OK' remote

Most of the buttons work great. It's just I don't really know what
Play, Stop, Skip Forward, Skip Backward and Pause do.
I'll have my brother program the requested buttons and see if I can record something then. Perhaps we'll know then if the DVR buttons work or not. Thanks for your work so far. I greatly appreciate this.
