I have a Philips 5500 satellite receiver. It works if I use the code 1076, but the channel up and down keys don't appear to be mapped.
I found a new code for it at the Yahoo site: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... T-1077.txt, but I appear to get the same results with it.
I guess the first questions is: does anybody know what the difference is between the built-in code and this new one?
Second, as I said, I have to 'learn' the channel up and down keys...but, I get very sporadic results with that. Sometimes, the channel won't change, sometimes it will change too many at a time. Sometimes I can only go up, or only go down. Does anybody have any tips on 'learning' that might give me more reliable results?
I also need to map the 'source' button, so would I be better off doing all of this via 'learning' or via KM?
If the answer is KM, does anybody have a 'how-to' guide for KM?
Thanks.

Re: Philips 5500 Satellite receiver
That setup code uses the RC6 protocol that has a toggle bit. My guess is some of the problems you are encountering trying to use a learned command for Ch+/- comes from that issue. A protocol with a toggle bit requires one bit to alternate between successive button presses of the SAME key.jr_G-man wrote:I have a Philips 5500 satellite receiver ... , I have to 'learn' the channel up and down keys...but, I get very sporadic results with that. The good news is that IR should recognize that command and tell you the EFC.
If we are talking about the same thing then you can re-map the Ch+/- keys using the key move tab in IR and assign the EFC that you will have obtained from the learned commands. Once you do that key move, make sure to delete the learned command in IR.I also need to map the 'source' button, so would I be better off doing all of this via 'learning' or via KM?
If the command is key moved rather than learned then the remote will do the toggle bit correctly. If you don't delete a learned command then if a learned command and a key moved command are both assigned to Ch+ then the learned command will take precedence.
