I've worked my way through Page 1 of 3 of the Device Upgrades/TVs section (that's A thru to middle of the Panasonic desert). Regrettably I now have to go and do some real work.

The TV files:
{deleted}

I opened many old KM files and saved them as version 9.10's. I unzipped some files and saved them. Unfortunately my strategy was to go through the directory I'd placed them in and copy the newly modified ones to a separate directory and roll them all up into one big ZIP file but it seems that Windows has decided that all the files were created yesterday or today so I'll have to go through them all later.

Just did the CD upgrades, and filled in the blanks in the TV list (up to the P's).

I'm starting on DVD now.

Hey Dave, any progress with the automation tool? Even if it only downloads the files it would still be a great time saver.

I've been ploughing ahead anyway but it's really time consuming, and apart from UQ, nobody's stepped up to help.

Good idea to do this Rob :)
I'll take it from the end of your list - starting with AV selectors whatever they are. Is it those gadgets that expand your connections on the tuner or TV?

Selectors are devices that let you connect multiple devices to a single audio or video connector. Sometimes they're manual but when they're remote controlled they really rock.

Very rough file downloader

This program is supposed to pull upgrades from the Upgrade page of the File Section to your computer. It will make a subdirectory for each category, e.g. Audio, and put that in the same directory as this executable. It does not get files in special sections of the upgrades; for example, it does not download Apex DVD players. The file names and file URLs are written to "links.csv". At my house it takes about 1 second per file.

The program also will try to extract info from the downloaded files into a CSV file, called "upgrade.csv". It makes no attempt to decipher Combo protocols.

You need to select the files to process; please select no more than about 100 per run or risk an exception. After processing each batch of 100, rename upgrade.csv to e.g. upgrade1.csv, etc, because each run will overwrite upgrade.csv. The actual processing seems to be instantaneous.

During downloading, there is no way to stop the process except by Task Manager.

Not an elegant progam by any stretch, but it may help.

Rob, One file needs your expert attention and two files are missing. See red rows.

3FG,
This is very cool to get batch downloading.

I used it for TVCombos. There are 41 files and 41 came in.
But then I got exception, see screen shot
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=8524
Link.csv file has 36 rows with hyperlinks and 37th row is
TV Combos\Toshiba_LCD_TVwDVD_32LV67U_115

I have to leave the house for several hours now. Will continue TVcombos later.
