Comcast remote responding slowly

I have a comcast dvr 3 remote (red "ok" button) that is responding really slowly. Everytime I press any button it takes about 2-4 seconds for it to respond. I immediately see the red light, but the command does not reach the box immediately.

This is probably not your remote's fault. Try unplugging the cable box. Leave it off for a minute or so, and then plug it back in. When it finishes booting up, the response time will probably be back to normal.

At least that's the way it's worked at our house.
