Hi Everyone,
I saw a couple of postings from the past regarding the Minka Air ceiling fan which I also own. I tried to get my 2116 to learn the ceiling fan codes and the light codes from it's remote, but I got an error message. Based on this experience and what I read, it sounds like it is an RF signal. Is there any way to get the 2116 to work with this ceiling fan? Thanks. _________________ David |

To be more specific, not directly. The 2117 does not learn RF. In order to get your ceiling fan to work with the 2116, 17, or any other IR remote, you would have to use an X-10 type device. I believe the IR543 is what you would need. There are experts on that sort of thing that could help you more, but I suspect would recommend something like this http://www.smarthome.com/2205.html to go with it.
An alternative would be something like this http://www.smarthome.com/2034.html but I don't know if it would be rated high enough wattage for a ceiling fan.
