Copying Macros and Key moves in IR

Post by TomintheVan »

Ok, 23 views and no replys. :? Either the question, has no answer, is really really dumb, or isn't well formulated. I'll rephrase.

Is there a way to copy key moves or macros from 1 IR text (save format) file to another?

Hi all

I finally have my remote (a 1994) more or less controlling my equipment the way I want. VPT didn't work like I hoped and some of the gear doesn't have discrete on/off, but it's working pretty well. Thanks for all the help and documentation, not to mention the quite reliable and usable software!

Once I had the upgrades for each of the devices (using RM) in as good shape as I could make them, I created key moves and macros in IR to get VPT to work and add macro on/off functions. Now I have several IR text files and would like to move some of the macros and key moves from one to another. I can't figure out how to cut and paste this information. Am I missing something, or must I retype this info again?

Hi. I just struggled with this myself, and here is what I figured out for keymoves.
1. In IR 4.02 click on the "Copy to clipboard" icon in the lower left hand corner.
2. Load the ExtenderCodeCalc spreadsheet into Excel.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... -v3.00.zip
3. Goto cell B6 and paste.
4. Copy Q7..Q? (Row 6 is a list of headers, so skip it)
5. Open the other file in IR.
6. On the Key Moves tab in IR select Import and do a Control-V.

I haven't found a way to do it for Macros.

I would like to see IR have an Edit menu with options "Copy Text", "Copy Hex", and "Paste Hex". Text would work just like the button does now, Hex would do the hex without a header row, suitable for importing back into IR. If it could be intelligent that would be an extra bonus. If you were on the Macros tab and did a copy hex, then opened a different file and accidentally went to the Key Moves tab to import, the Paste Hex would be dimmed.

Hope that helps.
