I'm trying to get the 2116 extender working, but I'm running into a problem. Because there is no support for learned commands, I need to import the commands that I have learned into 2116's built in devices. For instance, I have a RCA DVD Player that I have learned a couple of keys that were not in the built in device. How can I export a built in device so that I can modify it to include these keys?

Thanks,
Ben

You can't. The built-in device is in ROM and can't be read. However, you can define your additions as keymoves within IR. It would probably be a good idea to do this before you install the extender (it will help in troubleshooting)

You can't export the builtin setup codes.

However, if you tell us what setup code you used, we can help you.

Actually, since you already learned the buttons, take a look in IR at the Learned Signals tab, and tell us what it says. Specifically we want to know Protocol, device sub-device, and OBC, EFC, Hex command.

Then, if it is just a couple of keys, you can add that function using keymoves instead of building a whole device upgrade.

I've uploaded my output from IR to:
www.samuraipanda.com/my2116.txt

There are a number of learned keys on different devices. My hardware is:
TV: Sony
SAT: ReplayTV 5040
CBL: Phillips Tivo
AUDIO: Yamaha 5660 Receiver
DVD: Xbox

Any help is appreciated. My ultimate goal is to speed up the macros, but the available extender doesn't support the learned keys.

Ben

In some cases you've learned commands over the top of a device upgrade (Audio/1176 and VCR/0617) If you're not happy with the button assignments in the device upgrade, by all means change them! If there are some assignments that you'll never use, remove them. That's what KM is for.

It looks like all the rest can be handled by keymoves. Just use the EFCs that you can see on the Learned Signals page to create the keymoves. Then delete the Learned Signals. And test.

You can always get back to this state by reloading your my2116.txt file.

You can see on the Key Moves page the key moves that were generated by your Audio/1176 upgrade.

Using the keymoves I was able to get it working. Thanks for the help.
