My DTA is getting confused by my Sharp TV's OEM. The UEI (urc-3146) remote that comes with the DTA doesn't have the same problem, because the frequency is a tad higher.

Since the Sharp doesn't look like it could be confused with XMP, I thought the Sharp signal might be being interpreted as a Thomson, since its the same number of bits per frame and runs a little slower.. But that wasn't it either.

DECODES:

# Frequency Protocol Device OBC Hex Note Misc Start End Error
1 Sharp 1 OBC= 246
Sends an 8

2 Sharp 1 OBC 23
Sends a Zero

ANALYSED TIMING DATA:

1: Repeat: +262 -1821 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +255 -43327 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +255 -47595
Extra: +262 -1821 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +262 -1821 +260 -778 +252 -235274
2: Repeat: +264 -1820 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +268 -45416 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +268 -45416
Extra: +264 -1820 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +261 -775 +261 -775 +264 -1820 +261 -775 +278 -237648

After all the rounding and switching to binary I came up with this

Sends AN 8
Repeat: ^100000110111110 +255 -43327 100001001000001 +255 -47595

Sends a zero

Repeat: ^100001110100010 +268 -45416 100000001011101 +268 -45416

This doesn't look like either frame would be in either signal could be a Thomson for the values that are sent, but now what?

Edit: A couple of other signals sent out an 8
4: Repeat: ^100000100100010 +262 -47476 100001011011101 +257 -43330

5: Repeat: ^100001000110110 +263 -45394 ^100000110111110 +255 -43327

I tried breaking each frame down to a seperate key, and now I'm finding that the any of these keys will produce zeros or 8's so whatever this is, there is no pattern as to what is coming out. So I'm clueless as to how these frames effect my unit. So I'm giving up.

Edit, I made a mistake, I had forgotten to put the lead out off time, once I did that the output produced was more controlled.

100000110111110 +255 -43327 produces an 8
100000100100010 +262 -47476 produces an 8
100000111001001 +263 -45394 produces an 8
100000001011101 +268 -45416 produces a zero

Also in another mistake with the leadin time didn't alter the results, so that first bit is probably not part of the signal.

000000110111110 +255 -43327 produces an 8
000000100100010 +262 -47476 produces an 8
000000111001001 +263 -45394 produces an 8
000000001011101 +268 -45416 produces a zero
