I have a couple remote eyes that I use on my home theater pcs, they plug into the usb and allow the media center remotes to talk to the pcs. They do light up when I use my Samsung TV remote so they must be receiving the pulses.
Can I use one of those with the widget software to read the remote codes?
I should just try . . . just didn't want to messa round digging stuff out of the entertainment center if it wouldn't work.
Thanks!

The answer is . . . Nope, it doesn't work. It seems to find it, but doesn't receive any data. Back to guessing codes I guess . . . |

A friend of mine was sure he'd heard of a program that would capture codes using the standard htpc remote eyes but couldn't recall the program. I've done some looking around and I don't seem to be able to find it either . . . anyone know of a program that will work with the regular htpc remote eyes that use the standard ehome driver that comes with XP Pro? |

OK, broke down and ordered an Ir Widget from Tommy (outstanding service by the way, I wish all online vendors were as good as he is!).
I read the hex codes out from my original remote, here they are:
Power BF
TV 27
1 DF
2 5F
3 9F
4 EF
5 6F
6 AF
7 CF
8 4F
9 8F
Dash 3B
0 77
Pre-Ch 3
Vol + 1F
Vol - 2F
Mute 0F
Source 7F
Ch + B7
Ch - F7
Ch List 29
Menu A7
Fav Ch DD
Tools 2D
Up F9
Return E5
Left 59
Enter E9
Right B9
Info 07
Down 79
Exit 4B
Red C9
Green D7
Yellow 57
Blue 97
P Size 83
MTS FF
CC 5B
I'll upload an ir file in a bit when I'm done playing.
Take Care, hope this helps others!

I'm sure this will be very helpful to others. BTW did we ever address the numbers table issue? _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Hi Vicky,
You told me how to fix the number tables issue, but if I recall correctly it was actually a problem with the Millenium 4 base file RemoteMaster uses so that base file needed fixed and I don't know if that ever happened or not, I just haven't checked as following your directions I got mine working and I've just downloaded the existing remote and then modified as needed to add my other remotes.
It's sooooo sweet to have all the remotes back in one again!
That Ir Widget is GREAT too! No more hunting, just grab the remote I want to emulate and read it! Tommy's customer service is GREAT too!
Thanks for all the help, it's much appreciated!
Take Care,
Steve |

I've just taken a closer look at this and I suspect that slr_65's remote is really a BJ8 version.
Looking at the RM file, it tried to use DigitMap 0x15 (decimal 21), which in the B00 remote is "77 DF 5F 9F EF 6F AF CF 4F 8F", which would be the right codes for this TV. Looking at the BJ8 remote, the 21st entry is "47 DF 5F 9F 1F CF 4F 8F 0F C7" which would give the exact results that slr_65 got.
So, bottom line, change the selected remote to Millennium4-4MXXXBJ8XXX and I think everything will work fine. _________________ Rob

Hi Rob,
I believe ya, but I have no way to test it any more - I've moved on to the Atlas 5 device remotes with backlighting and I gave my old mil 4s away.
THANKS so much for working on this for us though, it's much appreciated!
