It worked, then it stopped

Post by whiterose »

We got it so connect and upload from the remote using IR. then we went to bed and waited for another day. The next day the system would not work. IR says the device is not connectedeven though when we check with add/remove hardware in windows it says the device driver is there and working fine.

Tried, reinstalling the device driver, tried using cdm20600.exe to install device driver nothing seems to work.

Why did it work only once?

Kathryn did you realize you didn't give us any information to work from here? Operating system, cable type, remote, error message.

I remember that you were working with a 15-1994 from your other post, but we really need a lot more information as to what happened. I also know that your dad is 400 miles away, but from what you said I don't know what kind of advice you need.

Is the cable, usb, serial or parallel?

What operating system?

What error message?
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

One way to make it stop working is to plug the cable into the remote backwards-- that is, 180 degrees rotated.
