Vickyg2003...thank you very much for your advice. Programming my MarantzSR5300 worked (I can stop pulling my hair out now). I have an Insigna TV now that I need the codes to as well.

Dennisb643, please start a new thread if you need help with the Insignia. Make sure to USE THE TEMPLATE when you make your post.

I have read all the posts and instructions for programming my comcast remote and the Marantz receiver. I followed the instuctions and the receiver turned off but it won't turn on. What did I do wrong? PS: I have a SR6004 if that makes a difference.

If you are using 30189 as the basic setup code for AUX, keymove in EFC 00036 for Power toggle.

If you are using 21781, enter EFC 29193.

This is device (called system in Marantz parlance) 16, OBC (command) 12. The Comcast remote can't send discrete power On/Off signals, according to the Marantz spreadsheet. Setup code 30189 sends 17.12 for power toggle rather than 16.12.

Found matches already in our File Section.

I think this thread might be closed, but i'll take a shot anyway. I have a Marantz NR1501 and the setup codes/EFC codes are working well, but I have inputs Blu-Ray and/or Game that I'd like to control but do not see any EFC for them in the thread or in the attached files. Wondering if anyone knows what they are? I really need Blu-Ray, but might be able to get away with Game.

Thank you!

Marantz makes all of the codes available.

However, the Game and Blu-Ray inputs use the RC5x IR protocol rather than RC5. Setup code 21781 can send only device 31 or 0 in RC5x, and the needed device number is 16 for Game and 07 or 28 for BD.

So unless you get a JP1.3 interface cable, I don't think you can make this work.

Thanks for the quick response, what if I used the setup code 30189?

You don't mention which UEI remote you are using, but if it has one of the following 3 setup codes in it, you might be in luck:

Audio/0070
Audio/0172
Audio/0412
Audio/0892
TV/0444

Using one of those setup codes, the following EFC5 codes should work:
12021 = Blu-ray
11989 = Game

Hi there!

I have an older Comcast remote that will power on/off my Marantz NR1501 receiver. However, when Comcast installed a new box with a DVR, the remote they left, when 'coded' with the Comcast code for the receiver (30189), it would not turn the receiver on/off. Is there another code that can be used, or do I need to exchange the Comcast remote for another remote?

Did you read the thread?

Keymove instructions found in the Wiki

Note that Power keys usually will not take a keymove, so you'll need to put it somewhere else

Yes, I read the post, and the 'backup' material. Here's what I did using the Comcast remote that came with the DCX3501 'box':

Pressed 'Aux' button (red light flashed once)
Pressed/held 'Setup' button; got 2 red flashes; released it;
Keyed in 994
Keyed the 'Setup' button
Keyed in 00036
Pressed the 'Aux' button; got one red flash

Tried to turn on/off the Marantz NR1501 receiver (verified that the receiver IR is 'on'); the Marantz remote works fine, and controls all receiver functions properly.

The problem is your target key in the last step
There are a few button restrictions on a keymove target. "Power", and the device buttons in this case "Aux", "CBL" and "TV" and the "Setup" button are usually off limits.

Try the "A" key for the last step

Press Aux key
Press the "Setup" key, until you get 2 red flashes; released it;
Key in 994
Key the 'Setup' button
Key in 00036
Pressed the 'A' button; get two red flash

"A" should now turn on and off the unit
