How do I set up other modes on 5 funct Atlas OCAP remote?

Post by timg11 »

I'm trying to program the Atlas OCAP (URC 1056B01) remote that was provided by Time Warner to support other equipment.

It has 5 "modes" at the top (VCR, DVD, AUD, TV, CBL). When I load "8300HDC - Atlas OCAP Default.rmdu" into RemoteMaster, I can see the mappings for the 8300HDC cable box on the Buttons tab. The mode buttons (along with some "Phantom" buttons) are at the bottom of the list in red.

How do I program the other functions (DVD, AUD, TV, etc)? AFAIK, the tutorial doesn't cover this case.

Can the multi-function programming only be accomplished in the IR program?

See section 4 in the tutorial. IR or RMIR is required for the next steps which are assigning your device to a device key and downloading the information into your remote.

RM is for configuring a single device, or "mode", at a time. Once you have a device set up the way you want, you copy and paste the device upgrade and/or protocol code into another program like IR or RMIR. Then, in IR you assign the desired device key (VCR, DVD, etc.) to use that device upgrade. Repeat the process for every device (mode) you want to customize or add.

If you use RMIR, it will launch RM for you when you try to edit a device. If you use IR, you'll have to launch RM yourself and copy/paste the upgrades.

Thanks for the reply. I am using IR to manage the modes. I'm saving my work as .IR files.

I'm still not understanding how to customize existing setup codes. I posted a question https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11443 in Code Search, since I'm having trouble getting my receiver to work.

The upgrade files I found in the library for Denon use Setup Code 1177. My Denon AVR-3200 does not respond at all to 1177, but works partially on Setup Code 1360.

I'm not sure how I load something representing Setup Code 1360 into Remote Master so I can fix the non-working buttons.
