vito cn4201 tv

Post by Ronald Chappell »

device: vito cn4201 nu
type of device: 42" lcd tv
year: 2007
vizio remote model ?
Still have original remote no
checked pronto file section yes
partially working setup code yes, tv/0178 1758 1178 1325 1423 1993
Learning remote: n/a

Lost remote , can't find codes for 'vito' anywhere. The partial codes were for HITACHI and control on/off and volume. Cant' find tv for sale anymore. Vito not in files or pronto. Is there any hope of finding numbers for channel change if I get JP1 and UEI remote?
Thanks everyone.

I'm confused by your post.

Do you mean that you have a Vizio remote, and verified that setup codes tv/0178 1758 1178 1325 1423 1993 all controlled on/off and volume?
Or, if you don't have a UEI manufactured remote, how did you verify that those codes partially work?

If you do have a UEI remote, finding the function code for channel up/down can be done by trial and error-- just by typing in all of the possible 3 digit function codes. Once found, the function codes can be attached to the volume keys manually, without a cable. I can post a procedure for searching for the function codes and how to attach them permanantly to keys.

Of course, it will be easier if the function codes are already available somewhere on the web.

I beleive the VIZIO remote is the VIZIO VUR8, a UEI remote, since the setup codes make sense.

tv/0178 1758 1178 1325 1423 all use NEC1 DEV 4 protocol

tv/1993 uses a NEC combo .

None of my UEI remotes contain a code for a VITO either. So the cable would not help at this point. If you want to explore this with EFC's I'd suggest setting the code to 0178 and testing the 256 possibilities, but this method can be dangerous and fun. If the manufacturer lets you fall into service menus, you could do some bad things to your TV during EFC exploration. You can NOT use 1993 for this process because it is a combo code.

Universal Remote, has one Vito TV code, TV/363, which is used on Element,Haier and LG TV's. But this is not related to our UEI remotes and I have no idea what that remote sends.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
