It would appear that Sagem has used different codes for the different STBs, so even though the codes that you learned had good solid info, Redstar had already tested them with his own Harmony and found that they didn't work.

If there is a way for you to load Redstar's learned signals into your Harmony by pretending to be him (I guess you'd need to share ids and passwords privately), you could then learn them from your Harmony using your JP1 tools to see what the signals look like.

UEI has 10 Sagem devices. Most of them are variations of the two files that Alan posted, Nec1, 135.94 and Nec1 134.15.

There are two notable exceptions, the 1253 and the 1114. The functions below are given in EFC's.

And it seemed like such a clever idea

What we had both forgotten is that the Harmony profile stores the model of your Harmony (I have a 659 and you have an 885) and so when I logged in it prompted me to change your profile to a 659. Which I didn't do of course as it may have been catastrophic.

Not sure where we go from here, but my next suggestion is that you create a new Harmony account, and just put the Sagem box in the Devices. Then I can log onto it and happily tell it to change the Remote to my 659, without risking your primary setup. All we lose is the Custom Button mapping. It will mean some work, as you will have to learn all the commands again. Although as I understand it, a call to Logitech support will get you a 'cloned' account, which we can then play around with, which will be less work.

If it does, it opens up a whole new channel on how we can help Slingbox users, who have a Harmony, to get new BIN files.

Good news: Our idea worked, the device loaded onto my Harmony OK.

Bad news: When I try to learn the codes using IRSCOPE it is not coming up with a recognised protocol.

Rob: Is there any information you can get out of IRSCOPE (the .ict) file that would enable you to find the protocol/device ID ?

All the information that we need for the rawtimings is in there, its just not in the most convenient form.

Just like any other protocol decode you'll need to learn as many keys as possible. Put together a Txt file that contains the name of each key, followed by the information from its ict file. Looking at the raw timings we can find the lead-in, lead-out and repeat style.

Since you can't decode it, my guess is it uses the protocol in the Cable/Sat 1114 upgrade. That's the only one that doesn't a NEC format.

Any idea how I can break out the information from the ICT file ? The only option in the program is to view it graphically, but the numbers all overlap so it is impossible to read. And although the ICT files show up in the \Program Files\IRScope\ folder when you select the View option, when I look there in File Explorer, even with Hidden files selected, there is nothing there.

Are you using Vista? Irscope isn't vista compliant. Vista hides these files in a hidden "store". You can find it, but its very hard. An easier solution would be to move the software out of the "Programs files" folder. Vista is a really nasty operating system.

Thanks, that was it. I had already moved RemoteMaster out, IRSCOPE now follows it

Just as a test, I've learnt the "2" key the "Power-Toggle" and the "Up_Arrow" and put the ICT file at:

If this is enough to figure out the Protocol and Device Code we can try the keycodes of other Sagem models. If that fails I will have to learn the lot

If it isn't enough data let me know. And if you could explain how you get the protocol ID and Device Code I would be grateful.
