Would it be possible to upgrade the little 2K EEPROM in a RS 15-1994 to a larger one, say 4K or 8K? I know that this would require a special extender and rdf, but other than that, is there any technical reason why it shouldn't work?
If it is possible, is anyone up to the task of writing a new (or modifying an extisting) extender and rdf?
Possible to upgrade EEPROM to larger one?

You can always replace a small EEPROM with one up to 2k in size, but to go over 2k the remote needs to be programmed to read it.
The only remotes that can read +2k chips (from memory) are the URC-8811 (and it's clones) and the Kameleons. So no, you can't put a big chip in the 15-1994.
