DTVPAL DVR update 15-134 remote
I have two dish products, dvr, and digital converter. I have, using ir.exe and KM and updating a dish file Dish_VIP622(8910).txt It worked ok as is. However when I chose to edit it for the dvr, I had to change the protocol to dish network combo. It did work then. All tho I have more to do, it conflicts with the digital converter,(as did vip622). I can change the remote address on the original dvr remote, but I have failed to be able to do that with the 15-134. I learned the codes for both the original remote, and with the address changed, and saw that the sub dev changed from 0 to 4. I tried to change this on the KM general tab, but the revised file didn't work. I'm not clear where the "4" should go. The original unit code in km read 1, and the device0 read 1, device1 read blank. I replaced device0 with a 4. Did not work. I have saved the file, looked at *.txt files for directtv d11/12, and got more confused. I'm at an impass.

- The "unit codes" as used by KM are the same as the ones used by
your Dish device. If you are looking at learned signals in IR.exe,
the sub-device that is displayed will be one less than the unit code.
For example, if you are using unit code 3, the learned signals will
show sub-device 2.

Thank you all. I finally got it to function with a unit of 3 in both the dvr and with the 15-134. I will post the txt file once I am sure it is clean (and with notes). As far as I know there is no present file for the Dish dtvpal dvr. The radio shack, with it's very small keys (boo!) requires no keymoves, and has a key for every original remote function. Some keys are still available for future macros, which I will work on.

Yes, it's had a lot of problems. The dvr is for only "over the air", not cable or satellite.vickyg2003 wrote:PAL now has a DVR?

The remotes for the dvr, and the analog converter respond to both units, that's why I had to create a modified jp1 file for different units. I had to use a dish combined protocol for the DVR, which was different than the dish files. The learning part for the codes of the converter pal gave an error for the 15-134. But I was able to figure codes out from several dish codes through trial and error.
