Onkyo Nec1, sub 108 & 109 issues

Post by Neil P »

Hi all:

Am new to JP1 for about 2 months now, have programmed my 8811w remote well and made a few upgrades etc. Seems to have a pretty good hang of things and am leanring more from this group everyday, thanks alot.

I have a mini onkyo rec/cd player system and I learned all the buttons from the original to make an upgarde sheet in KM. All went well execept for the input selection button. All the buttons are Nec1, 210 sub 109, except for this one button is sub: 108.

My final result was to make an upgrade sheet with all the buttons expect this one and learn this button. I tried Nec1 combo and Nec1 2Dev Combo and nothing worked. Is there anyway to oombine the 108 and 109 sub into the same KM sheet?

Thanks,
Neil

I would have thought the NEC1 2DEV combo would have worked. Can you post your KM.txt file to the diagnostic folder?

With the NEC1 2DEV protocol, on the functions page, in the byte2 column, you have to:
set 'byte2' =
'0' for device1,
'1' for device2

As you only have one button from the 210.108 code, i would recommend that you create a dummy upgrade (ie, one with no buttons programmed) that uses the 210.108 code and then assign a keymove from this upgrade for that one button.

Robman:

well aint that a finnnnne idea .... thank you !!!

while i have you guys attention here: i noticed i cant program a macro to the Home Theater button but i can as a shift_ is that it ?

also: i tried the pause.txt file and am going carzy with it, is that my only solution?

also am having some trouble with the special protocol of the scan/fav button, will get more info and post later one.

without using extender, can i ran more than 15 macros? and how do i execute a discrete (say off) in a macro? since the only button availabe in the macro is power?

on the L1-L4 buttons, i have assigned a TV function to L4, can i also assign a macro to L4? so when i press L4 in TV mode i get my TV function assigned to L4 as well as a macro?

thanks again one and all,
neil

NEC1 2DEV protocol: I tried again and this time like the last time, nothing happen, cant get a single buttont to do anything. So I did what Rob suggested and made a dummy upgrade.

In IR, "clean upper memory" what is that for and its function and also the purge memory?

In the special protocol sheet, re-programming the fav/scan button, my 8810w remote is not listed, does that mean it can't be re-program for my remote?

Thanks again,
Neil P

The 6012, 8011, 8810w, 8811 and several other model numbers are all identical for most JP1 purposes (special protocols, extenders, upgrades, etc.)

The special protocols spreadsheet uses "URC-8011" to mean all of those.

Thanks for that info ... could you guide me some more since I am a bit new to JP1 regarding the fixed parameter for the scan/fav special protocol?

Both of those functions were added by Mark at my request, but neither of them do anything useful for the regular user.
